I knew a bloke who I used to work with who left to join the police. He packed in the police and returned, but he told me he gave a parking ticket to a remonstrating Paul McCartney outside Billy Vees in Lee High Road.
Sean Lock - scared him shitless in a boozer in Chelsea as i had him pinned to the wall talking bollocks whilst quite drunk Kevin Rowlands - Annoyed him drunk at a Boys Own do. he looked quite wary of me. Tom Baker - told me to fuck off in Soho Alan Mcgee - Thanked him for Noel and Liam Terry Hall - met him on a train to Manchester - he was off to see Utd - it was just before the Specials reformed gigs and he let me sit with him and chew the fat for 10 minutes. Amazing chap he really was Jerry Dammers - met him a the reissued Dance Craze film at the IMAX BFI a year or so ago - he approached me believe or not and said "i know you off the telly" - i reckon he thought i was Bill Bailey (its been mentioned) All of The Inbetweeners lads - of which Joe Thomas was my favourite - James Buckley came across as a bit of a tit - he was probably having a bad day. Greg Davies - only said hello as we were "on set" at the time Jarvis Cocker - we annoyed him and my mate tried to nick his glasses at a Massive Attack gig years ago Sean Pertwee - we shared a few minutes in the smoking bit outside a Specials gig in Brixton - i managed to say to him "Don't mack me off like a two bob" - which actually made him laugh. One of my heroes that most of you wont know - NIK TURNER from Hawkwind - met him and his family in Goa and Rajastan in India in about 93 - spent days with him before i told him i knew who he was - absolute gent and his girls were cuties Spider from Coronation Street - we got him mangled on Mud at a Faith/Boys Own do - poor fella had no idea what was going on.
Quite the list that, you've almost met as many famous people as Acworth.

Linda McCartney, back in 79, I was an apprentice electrician, she wanders into her (farmhouse) kitchen, makes us a cup of tea, has a chat, wanders off. I wasn't even aware we were working at their gaff. She was down to earth, no airs and graces.
Paul McCartney was often to be found, at the local Jempsons shop, asking people whether they wanted his autograph.
Paul's the talented one in the kitchen, she just stands at the back banging the pans

Apart from some Charlton players like Steve Mackensie and Mark Kinsella who I remember talking to, I said hello to Robert Smith of The Cure in a lift, and the lead singer of Kent backstage on my way to the toilet. I said to him ’bloody brilliant’ and he replied ’thanks.’ Edit: I also had quite a long conversation with the lead singer of Here We Go Magic in the street outside after a gig.

They have a gaff near Rye dont they?
They have a farm, supposedly he treats his staff to free Glasto tickets.
Kissed a sweaty Michelle Gayle once. Best one and a half seconds of her life. Met countless bands (used to work in a nightclub and one of the jobs was doing the rider for the bands when they played gigs). Most famous probably Green Day (literally a month after Dookie came out - three months later they'd sold about 3 million albums - sound lads, all three of them) Ronnie Corbett (worked in a garden centre as a teen - he used to go in there, and was a proper c**t). Ol Sausage Fingers Prince (King) Charles when I was 4 (he came to Deptford and our whole nursery class got to meet him).
Christina Hendricks Margaret Thatcher Paris Hilton Jacinta Arden Thora Hird Rihana Lada Gaga Florence Nightingale Barbara Cartland Katie Price Lassie Juliet Capulet... ...and many more but a gentlemen never discusses the who and what of his bedroom
so its true about you and Lassie then!
She was not as good a girl as everybody thought !
especially as all 9 Lassies were boys!
They hid that well, good job the dogs had long hair
When i lived in Rye i met Linda Macartney a couple of times and she was very friendly. I managed a leisure centre where Spike Milligan was a member. He was a miserable old so and so but his wife Sheila was lovely.

I'm terrible with lyrics and for a long time i thought the Beatles song was "Ticket to Rye" . Nice to know that a place actually exists by that name and that Paul McCartney lived there no less. For a brief moment it has made me feel less of an idiot than i am.
My dentist used to have his own practice in Wimpole Street, London. When the Beatles moved to London, Paul McCartney lodged with the Asher’s down the road, Paul going out with Jane Asher at the time. While there McCartney and Lennon wrote I Wanna Hold your Hand and McCartney wrote the music for Yesterday. John Taylor Smith is an excellent dentist by the way.

Understandable mistake, Kiwi, but it's actually Ticket to Ryde, which is a small town on the Isle of Wight. You're welcome.
