I agree with SHG, My LOL post was about the Bobby Hot Fuss thing.

Does Roland really have the time to sit there and decide which players play, He probably doesn't give a poop, He may have a plan... and he may certainly want things done a certain way. But i don't think he would priorities player pickings in the position we was in. Young manager, Dealing with young players from our academy, Producing players good enough for the SL team and to make money from his probably his goal, He brought us because his likely heard of the academy we have, we are in London which for any young player from anywhere is a exciting prospect. We are a feeder club to SL, We bring through youth, Sell RD makes bucks, Simple.

    Who's Roman? I bet he can't hold a candle to Roland :-)

Riga has stated he wanted the job but the fact he did not pick the network players seems to of counted against him. Looks like RD wants a Yes Man and will appoint one no matter how unpopular it is.

These sorts of comments don't help. You're guessing. Do you really think RD replaced Powell for saying no, only to bring in someone else who says no.
Riga's remit was to keep us in the championship, at the VIP season ticket holders meeting on 6th March the club officials under RD admitted the network players that came into the club were not good enough.

So in the short term not picking them was not an issue. RD's long term vision is to have a manager who is happy to agree working his way and it looks like SCP & Riga could not agree on these football issues. He will find someone who does, similar to Forest when Warnock turned down job because of interference from owner.
I know this is going to sound aggro, but what was the point of that reply? You're speculating just as much as you did the first time. How do you know what RD's long term vision is? Answer - you don't. None of us do. Not even Riga, apparently.

You should not lament poor Bradley Pritchard, who went crashing in, late, and got a straight red in the first game of last season. Our 'midfield' at Bournenouth were Mark Gower and Andy Hughes. They were casually turned over by our inferiors, and we lost 2-1.

Well done, Pritchard. Look again at Kermorgant's goal in that game at Bournemouth: the way he bent his body to hammer a cross on the volley. Remember his geometry-defying lob from the goal-line in our promotion party against Hartlepool? And his many deliciously curving arcs from free-kicks over the wall that left the keeper speechless?

We had a free-kick at The Valley the other the week in a typical Kermorgant position: ten yards outside the box. The whole stadium fell silent. After much deliberation, Johnnie Jackson stepped up - and hit it straight in to the wall.

Joe Pigott is six inches taller than Yann Kermorgant - and he never wins a header.

  • Bournemouth were not and are not inferiors to us.

I bet it's only being that happy that gets you through the day. Streuth.

BoB peeters sounds like the regular who sits at the bar all day , he also looks like the regular who sits at the bar all day, his cv looks the nuts , surely there is someone better out there ffs.
  • Start knitting the scarf, and waving the flag. Do you really think your pathetic attempts have any affect on the team?

OK - you win. They are leaving, quickly.

  • Well we're getting him so we might as well get used to it
  • Crazy appointment if it happens .
  • No disrespect to Bob Peeters, who may turn out to be a good appointment. But why would you take the risk with someone who you don't know how they are going to fit in, when you already had someone who seemed to be the perfect fit.
It's very rare for a manager to come in from out of the blue like Riga did, and have such a positive impact in such a short period of time, not just in terms of results, but in the way he endeared himself to players, fans and staff alike. We all know that sometimes even managers with big reputations (Pardew) turn out to be disasters. Some managers just don't fit in no matter what their credentials or reputation. Any chairman lucky enough to come across someone like Riga, should be racing to tie him down to a contract ASAP. The decision to let him walk away is absolute madness.
  • All just seems very un-necessary
  • Well we're getting him so we might as well get used to it

    ITK AFKA

  • I guess if he comes in and additionally we get some decent signings then we will all feel much better about the appointment. If that doesn't happen then we all should start to worry. In the end he is the coach and they work on fine margins so if the squad improves along with the appointment we should all relax and see where we are come opening game
  • Give the guy a chance ffs. It's not like we actually have a say, let's just see what happens and judge him for his performance not on others opinions or past stats.
  • Well we're getting him so we might as well get used to it

I always admire your optimism, AFKA: and of course you are absolutely right. Chris Powell, as a player, was a defender: hence his fatal strategy of playing only one up front at home the season before last. Bob Peeters, as a player, was a striker - so perhaps he will actually coach our players in to attacking the opponents before we are 0-1 down.

Note, though, that Peeters himself scored only 3 goals in 25 games in English football. Don't get too excited.

  • Whatever Peeters did as a player is irrelevant, he is a coach now.

Translated from the Waasland Beveren site
If we are to believe the reports in the press, it would appear that our T1 Bob Peeters Freethiel will leave soon. To date, however, Bob Peeters nor his agent formally submitted his resignation to us.
Waasland-Beveren wants the best for all parties involved, and want to get quickly to handle the situation. Correctly send a clear picture of the situation as soon as possible It is clear that in this club is the most disadvantaged. The club stresses that as long as we have not explicitly received the resignation of Bob Peeters also always searching for a successor.
The club is very bored with the issue. Despite all the discussions with appropriate reinforcements and preparations for the coming campaign go undisturbed.
There's been rumours for weeks that any decision over a new head coach would be done after the end of the Belgian season so it looks like this has been planned by RD for a while.

There is a very important thing about top-notch strikers: if the service from midfield is no good, they go hunting and delving back to midfield: they seize the ball and make it their own: watch Shearer, and Rooney. Remember those times when Kermorgant would suddenly arrive in our box and make a defensive header?

Our midfield is utterly vapid. Efficient, nodded defensive clearances from Morro drop fifteen yards outside our box - and the opponents pick them up and begin another assault.

There is nothing wrong with Simon Church. Do you remember a few weeks ago how he accelerated at the lazy back-pass, like Paul Williams, and the Blackburn keeper teed the ball up for a punt and Churchy was in like Flynn?

I ask you: can you actually imagine Obika chasing down the defenders? Or Marvin Sordell running back to seize the ball in midfield. Or Joe Pigott?

  • Let's keep this thread re: our imminent new manager please
  • Chunes

To be fair I have based all my opinions from public statements. RD stated in an interview CAFC would be run as part of the network. How the manager operates in it is my concern and many others.

    Give it rest FFS

All our players are crap especially the kids (although I notice you're not slagging off Harriot anymore), we get it.

Gawd knows what that's got to do with Bob Peeters
Well, try not to be defensive, and use a bit of imagination for a start. I want Duchatelet to buy some good players. Evidently, he satisfies your purse-lipped glowing prudence: you applaud the simplest cross-field pass from one of our players to another, as if it were magic. We were 0-1 down at home - and lost again.

Please don't pretend to know what I think or what satisfies me. If the only way you can win an argument is by making up what the other person is saying you've already lost.

Now, as AFKA requested can we stick to Bob Peeters.
  • Can see it now Bobs left his barstool and he is off to sparrows lane with a case of stella under each arm .
