  • Italy have just had that little bit of extra nous. It's still been a decent effort.
  • Really poor second half from England. A lot of players disappearing.
  • That Pirlo's nothing more than a porr man's A A.

See - A A would have scored from that free kick.
  • Terrible crosses 2nd half
  • If we play against the thugs and Costa Rica like we did for the first hour tonight we'll be alright; we'll qualify.........especially if he drops Rooney.
  • Tough game. One bit of bad defending spoilt the day.
  • Sorry, the loss down to Roy not plugging the gap
  • Enjoyed that weirdly. No Rooney please.
  • Gutted.

Didn't play bad there. Encouraging thing is most of the best performances were youngsters.

  • Overall played b well - lots to be proud of and lots still to play for.
  • Not a bad performance at all. Difficult to decide about Rooney, poor game but set up the goal with a peach of a cross...
  • Youngsters did well but Italy just had that little bit more nous and desire than England.
  • Len, you were right. Rooney needs to be dropped. Might be the kick up the arse he needs.
  • Thought we were ok. Happy to see a manager not scared to go all out. We should have too much for Uruguay and costa rica. Sterling sturridge and welbeck will frighten any team.
  • That Pirlo's nothing more than a porr man's A A.

See - A A would have scored from that free kick.
You know it was the 93rd minute right?? ;-)

Not a bad game, but the quality really dipped towards the end. Great build up for Sturridge's goal, with 2 wonderful passes. Some good points for England, but there's a few people playing on reputations.

As for Pirlo, 95 minutes for an old boy who nearly rounded it off with a great free kick. Amazing swerve on it & Hart beaten all ends up.

Both these teams could well still go through this group.
  • Was the best world cup performance I can remember in ages

Rooney is not a left winger

Steven Gerrard showed why he is so over rated it's ridiculous

The defending for the second goal was real poor

Once Italy scored it was always going to pan out that way

All huff and puff but no house blown down

That team will beat u r gay and Costa Rica if they play that way
  • That Pirlo's nothing more than a porr man's A A.

See - A A would have scored from that free kick.
Only if it was before 60 minutes.
  • Told ya Mario would be the man

  • Thought we played well tbh. Good to see us attack and make chances. One bit of rubbish defending cost us dear.
  • Hart beaten at the near post, really poor goalkeeping.
    Surprised Lambert wasn't brought on.
  • So, Rooney gets the blame, hey? Rooney's shite corner was followed by two pathetic crosses from other England players, but no comments on, to watch, here? Possibly due to the heat and humidity, this wasn't the best game to watch. It was the 'same old' Italy, they sure know how to win. England had much more idea going forward, but they had no energy in the last 30 minutes. Pirlo.......amazing!!
  • Cheat Henry slags Mario off

Lambert would cause the thugs some serious problems at set pieces, the way they defended today.
  • Len, you were right. Rooney needs to be dropped. Might be the kick up the arse he needs.

    Gives me no satisfaction.

The bloke is excellent at club level but for whatever reason, lack of desire maybe, disappears in internationals. I used to like him but he was a disgrace in South Africa last time in particular.
  • I thought that was a good performance in fits and starts. Going forward, very good at times, but final ball awful. At the back, slow - but pretty solid apart from the stupid second goal. Midfield is where I'd make changes. Shrek was shite for 98% of the game and Gerrard and Henderson are too similar. Lallana for Rooney and Wilshere or Barkley for Henderson.

Sterling and Welbeck looked good - Sterling in particular.

    Pirlo - ageless.
  • Told ya Mario would be the man

And told you it would come back to haunt me! Shocking defending though.
  • First time in a while England looked like they wanted it. Unlucky
  • I don't see how anyone can say Italy had more desire. That's a lazy accusation in my book.

They scored a well worked set piece and took advantage of a slack bit of defending. Overall there were very little between the teams.

Not more desire but always more quality.
