According to Football league World "Michael Morrison has signed a 2-year contract and boss Jose Riga will be pleased to have him signed up". Do these forums have no way of checking all of their facts first. Lazy reporting.0

Well done Morro.
Well done RD,1 -
Well chuffed. My POTY.0

Very good news. Still a young player in that role. Looking better.0

Totally pleased with this news! If rumours cited by others on this forum are right then we should be hearing more transfer news very soon.0

...and Jack Munns is another one looking up ;-)PaddyP17 said:So a potential starting XI from players now 100% definitely under contract:
Pope, Solly, Wood, Morrison, Wiggins, Wilson, Buyens, Cousins, Jackson, Vetokele, Ghoochannejhad.
Other options #1 (for the sake of argument I'll only include those who are relatively tried and tested/cost us some fee in theory): Nego, Lennon, Fox, Harriott, Parzyszek, Church, Pigott.
Other options #2 (those less tested): Phillips, Gomez, Ansah - probably others in the development squad too, but I'm not familiar with it and these guys are the names that stand out most to me given either heritage or position in which we are wanting.
We have the nucleus of a pretty good side there. I'd like to see a goalkeeper, another centre back to partner MM, Poyet to sign on as well as another CM (or two maybe given the cover needed in such a demanding position), a good left midfielder perhaps and maaaaaaybe another striker. Also I'd like to see a fitter/pacier Ajdarevic back, that would be amazing, but wishful thinking probably.
Life at the Valley is certainly looking up.

I am sure Peeters was quoted as answering a question about Ajdarevic that he did not work hard enough and he was not interested in him.PaddyP17 said:So a potential starting XI from players now 100% definitely under contract:

All the stress of signing a new contract has really affected Morrison's Physical appearance... at least he's got his hair back though5 -
Delighted with this. One of my favourite players, capable, and alongside Jackson and Wilson maintains some stability (and thus championship know how) within the first team.
This cannot fail to make those wavering more positive and if (big if) we manage to persuade Poyet then I think we can all be a little bit more optimistic about the immediate future of CAFC.5 -
If you're going to run 4.5k why not push yourself the extra 500m to do 5k??
I guess the same attitude that leads someone to think wearing a t-shirt is as significant as a tattoo.
Roland out.13 -

Exceptionally good news - top man, Morro ! He's been a mainstay of our defence over the last three seasons and is, with Jacko, a real leader of our team. Championship know how is particularly important in central defence and he'd have been a very difficult guy to replace. Phew2

Oh FFS. What am I supposed to do with all the razor blades, lengths of rope and extra-strength paracetamol that I bought when I saw, quite clearly on numerous postings and threads on this very site that he was "gone". (I believe the phrases "nailed on FACT", "RD's network", and "rose-tinted spectacles" were used on numerous occasions). I am taking advice from my solicitor ("no win, no fee, no chance") as to how to proceed in pursuance of these losses.5

Oh it's OK. I've been told there'll be another one along in a moment.Wheresmeticket? said:Oh FFS. Very pleased with this signing. Thanks Morro for sticking with us. As far as i'm concerned it's us you play for not the owner. He's just passing through, the rest of us are Lifers! Have a great summer break and look forward to leading that back 4. Top bloke.3

Erm, how? Surely one up for the Sunday People.Redrobo said:

Glad he signed. I liked him ever since he stood toe to toe with us in the Charlton End at the den!
Him,Jackson and Wilson are a good bunch for us..6 -
Another kick in.the teeth and sign that the soul is being ripped out of the club
When will it end7 -
Buyens, Vetokele, now Morro. All looks fine superficially. I fear the worst.2

More signings dreckly.

I don't think Gomez will start the season as first choice CB alongside Morrison but I won't be surprised if he ends it that way. Like most on here have said, we need another one or two in that position added to the squad depending on what Richard Wood decides to do. Very happy that Morro is staying. I don't think there are many better centre halves than him outside the Premier League and he'd be difficult to replace as a player and a leader.0
