England players/management can never really win - even if they do "win". There will always be the same sniping and the "well its not Spain" type comments.
I remember when we actually beat Spain a few years ago in a friendly and Alan Green was still doing his nut because it "wasn't dynamic enough".
At the end of the day, we won away at a decent side. We didn't beat Pele's Brazil, but it was a small step in the right direction. And looking around Europe, and seeing a Ronaldoless Portugal losing at home to Albania, you realise things could be a LOT worse!

And we gave a game to a lot of younger players so giving us a little more hope for the future.
Watched first half. As we are In Egypt the mrs said she will watch too. Half time she wanted to go back, not impressed. Went back to the room and fell asleep. Glad we won.
She wants to go to the cabaret show tonight. Sorry love...revenge is sweet!
A terrific all round performance from a team/squad that will only get better.
2 Quick Points: 1) Sturridges' place might be in danger .. good player but needs to cut out the showboating and be more of a team player .. 2) Welbeck .. Could be 'the future', a snip of a purchase for the gunners .. I had a small wager on Arsenal to win the Prem this year .. hoping he can bring last night's form into the domestic league games.
Had a brilliant day out in Basel. Good atmosphere in the square before the game and during the match. ( a lot of anger towards the FA new caps decision. I.E 2 caps for home, 1 for away). This stopped when it went 1-0.
Hart made some brilliant save that kept us in the match. Very professional showing from us and thought we deserved the win.
Need to improve a lot more but it's a good start. Need to play more teams of this level of ability but we don't get the chance with San Marino at home next.

Felt like a group game from final tournament.
