Not one to have a moan re catering etc cant usually be arsed but the 2 half time pints of fosters? were flatter than a witches tit, and had the queue not been so long would have been chucked back over the counter. That another 8 quid the club have lost.

Yeah, 'cos Fosters is so delicious normally... ;-)
Don't worry about dairy stuff, I think it's discusting that the beer is £3.90 a pint, a shit pint at that.
Did you ask if the beer contained isinglass, just in case a veggie wanted a sip?
I am quite sympathetic of vegetarians, I don't mind the odd veggie meal myself, and when veggie friends visit next week we will be accommodating their needs without a problem. However, in starting a thread like this over something so petty at a football ground, that even a lot of veggies don't get het up about in a 5 star restaurant, I can understand why some people can be a bit scathing about stroppy vegetarians.
You are watching a football match. The food will be expensive, and probably not the best burger you have tasted. The beer won't be as nice as your local real ale pub, and there will be a lack of vegetarian options. Every single person knows this when attending football. Some, like myself will still buy, as they can accept these facts. Others don't like it, and will be sensible enough to eat/drink first.
I cannot understand how some don't seem to grasp these facts and still complain about their fosters tasting like piss, a person on minimum wage working part time not knowing that cheese could be vegetarian and their burger being more expensive than their local kebab shop.
if you drink milk then you support dairy farming. If there is dairy farming then male calves will be culled as they are of no value and from the culled calves we get rennet. So drinking milk products and eating only vegetarian cheese does nothing to affect how many calves get slaughtered and is not a logical position unless you go vegan.
Rennet is an enzyme produced by all mammals for digesting their mothers' milk, it is not "scrapped" stomach material, it is simply dissolved out of stomach material. Rennet is not detectable by taste so non vegetarians would just question what the fuss is about - it is nearer to being a part of religious doctrine like halal meat is and the only religion recognised at the Valley is football.
The reason I asked about the pie was that the poster giving the menu just said vegetarian pie. I wasn't initially after anything but a tea, saw that and thought I'd like a pie. If they had put cheese and onion pie I wouldn't have bothered as I don't particularly like them. My point really is that it's unimaginative to just have this as the veg choice and if it's advertised as a vegetarian pie at least the team leader should know if it is or isn't. There are several choices for meat eaters, why shouldn't I expect what's on offer to me to be what it purports to be?
Once again meat eaters showing a total lack of understanding. Not surprised at Lifers but would expect caters to understand. But they don't do they. I once asked for a Veggie option in the East Stand and was offered Chicken & Vegetable Pie! I had to point out that food that simply by incorporating vegetables does not constitute a vegetarian option.
I have it on good authority that the chicken in your pie was, indeed, a vegetarian.
No need to reassure me Chizz, although I appreciate the sentiment. I left the pie on the shelf so it was never mine.
The reason for lack of choice may be that The Department of Health and Food Standards Agency (FSA) seems to think that just 2% of the UK population is vegetarian and (I'm going out on a limb here) I would guess that % falls at a football ground.

I know that. If you advertise a vegetarian option though you need to ensure it is what it says it is.

Wars have been started over less than this.

Oh no, I forgot, that is too easy.
