The Aussies referred a snick for something that neither the bowler or keeper appealed.
And Rahane given out for the smallest of nicks!
178-5 off 36.2
Game over you would think but Dhoni has been on the winning side in 38 out of the 40 matches he's been not out at the end when India have batted second.0 -
And one of the two they didn't win was a tie!
Well he's going to have to go some because India need 133 off the last 10.0 -
Smith, 109 with the bat, the one responsible for the review of the Rahane catch and now runs Jadeja out with a direct hit.
Anyone offer me 1.01 on Betfair that he's MOM?0 -
I've officially withdrawn that request as Dhoni is now teeing off - hits Watson for two consecutive sixes.
223-6 off 43
106 needed off 70 -
Dhoni commits suicide. Hits it straight to mid wicket and gambles on Maxwell not hitting the one stump. Which he does.
231-7
The fat man is now singing - that's me in case you were wondering ;-)0 -
Ashwin bowled by Faulkner.
232-80 -
LOL Sky miss Faulkner bowling Sharma next ball due to an advert for the latest Russell Crowe movie!
Faulkner on a hat-trick.0 -
Starc bowls Yadav having softened him up with a bouncer that crashed into his helmet.
233 all out. Australia win by 95 runs.0 -
I watched India's innings. Superb bowling by Australia and such strength of character.
India looked well set before they lost a wicket & I guess they would have beaten England by about 6 wickets in the same situation.
I still think England have a good bowling attack (ability wise).
It's just that we are lacking mentally. Whether that is the coaches or players or both, I just don't know.0 -
In for a cracking final!0

Australia do seem to be producing a lot of decent bowlers, it's worrying (for the future) that apart from Johnson and Watson, the other bowlers were all in the low to mid 20s1

England have just confirmed the re-appointment of Otis Gibson as interim bowling coach.Covered End said:I watched India's innings. Superb bowling by Australia and such strength of character.

I think the biggest issue for us is that we don't produce enough left arm quickies. Or cricketers called Mitchell for that matter.killerandflash said:Australia do seem to be producing a lot of decent bowlers, it's worrying (for the future) that apart from Johnson and Watson, the other bowlers were all in the low to mid 20s
So, for any English prospective dads at there, could I ask that you name your new born Mitchell and that you coach him, growing up, to bowl left arm quick.
I must stress that the most important thing though is the Mitchell. Because just having that name gives you a decent chance of making it. Ask Mitchell Marsh. Having said that, his Dad, Geoff, got it all wrong first time round by naming his eldest son Shaun and encouraging him to bowl left arm grenades.

Wow, that'll make the difference then.Addick Addict said:

Now now he probably could show the likes of Philander and Parnell a thing or two ;-)The_President said:

After watching the highlights, realised that Australia have the monopoly on the most obnoxious world sportsmen..
1) David Warner (has to be him that Swanny said was so far up his own arris)
2) Mitchell Johnson - what a king size arrogant anchor he is
3) Haddin - that face/snidey smile just deserves a lovely right hander.2 -
Agree on all of the above Mr President, but would also add to that list Shane Watson - apparently a king sledger, but a big baby when he gets it back. Definitely not on the list of Aussie Dickheads, is Steve Smith who I am reliably informed is a really good guy, and has an English mother! One of the earlier posters summed up my feelings towards the upcoming Ashes, with the fact that our bowling stocks look almost empty, whereas those buggers can call on Johnson, Harris, Siddle, Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood, Coulter-Nile, Pattinson, Behrendorf and the unfortunate Sean Abbot. Painful times ahead for England (and others) I fear.0

To think Smith trialled for Kent and wasn't considered good enough for county cricket!0

This is interesting. I had no idea.

Very interesting a different spin to what I was told which was that the Kent coaches thought that he wasn't going to be good enough, technically speaking, to make it at county level.Callumcafc said:
I have to admit when I first saw him that I thought that he wouldn't make it as a leg spinner or batsman at international level. I was right on one count but totally wrong on the other.

N Z win the toss and bat.0

What a shame! The game needed B-Mac to shine.
Live by the sword.....0 -
Starc bowls McCullum fifth ball of the match. Big big wicket.
1-10 -
Maybe too early to say but I do sense a certain amount of nerves/choking/ freezing by the Black Caps. Hope I'm wrong.0
-
Average score for N Z in the W C in the first 10 overs is 77-2. Today they are 31-1 which is a reflection of their nervousness and the Aussie bowling especially from Starc (4-0-8-1).
Guptill 14 (31)
Williamson 11(26)0 -
Come on New Zealand.1
-
Heavy disappointment in the match so far and now multipled by Guptill's dismissal.0
-
Oh dear. Guptill plays an awful shot to Maxwell of all bowlers and is bowled.
33-2 off 11.20
