At last after what seems like an age of miss-matches and embarrassing performances by us, this ridiculously long tournament actually reaches a significant stage. Everyone knew these were the best four teams by miles so why we needed all the other matches is beyond me. Anyway it's NZ v SA and the Springboks have won the toss and elected to bat, very positive move but I'm sure the Kiwis won't fear chasing anything under 350. I might actually watch my first game of this World Cup. Starts in 15 mins.
Can't believe SA are favs. At Eden park, New Zealand chased 152 to beat Australia by one wicket and South Africa fell 29 runs short of chasing 231 against Pakistan.
With Boult, Southee, Vettori and Anderson taking a remarkable 61 wickets between them in this W C, South Africa will no doubt target Matt Henry - a player who all came into the squad yesterday to replace the injured Milne and selected in front of McLeghan and Mills.
39-2 off the power play 10. The Saffers really don't look like they've got the pace of the wicket though, at times, Boult especially has been unplayable.

Henry is looking pretty decent. Just shows how far behind we are.

0-3 off two and the second one a maiden too. Boult now bowling his 6th over.
S A playing a very English game. Generally allowing the N Z bowlers to dominate in the hope that they can go to town in the last 15 or so overs. Except they do have the likes of Miller and ABV and we don't of course.
feel SA have been a bit lucky to have the runs they have. Vettori has bowled very un-vetori like. Think they are going to post 250-270 which really will be game on.

SA won toss and will bat 1st
He's got to be the best 1 day bowler in the world at the moment.
Frustrated by Southee and Boult he gets a top edge to third man off Boult - caught by Southee!
31-2 off 7.5
43-2 off 13.
55-2 off 14.
The average score in the last 10 ODIs here is just 234 so N Z probably wouldn't want to be chasing much more than 270.
Du Plessis 40 (71)
Rossouw 36 (48)

114-3 off 26.1
ABV enters the arena.
The lull before the storm.
N Z need to get ABV out fast because he really looks impossible to bowl at. And their 5th bowler(s) have to bowl 7 of the last 17.
S A will be looking for 325 plus now
That was the first over of the PP. N Z bring Southee back.
