****Charlton terminate contract of Head Coach Bob Peeters****

Be interested to hear the take of the Roland sympathisers on this. We're an embarrassment but we have astroturf around the side of our pitch so all hail.
I am not proud of the club that we are today.11 -

Roland himself said survival was the aim this season.. which is what makes this completely and utterly perplexing.SELR_addicks said:"Huw Davies @thehuwdavies 18 seconds ago
Peeters the latest to suffer from starting too well. Winless in 9, sure, but were Charlton expecting better than 14th before season's start?"1 -
In fairness, if you were looking for a short team manager to get you into the Championship play offs he would be a good choice. But we are looking for a Head Coach and not a manager. For that reason alone I can't see it being an English name we've heard of but a European coach used to that set up.Riviera said:It's time for Colin........

feel sorry for Big Bob------but mostly for us----we are a joke at the moment3

Has Henry been on with his 'bumpy ride'?8

Circus at the moment. No doubt it will be Luzon or Fraye. I hate this network malarkey, no personality to the club at the moment.4
-
We're not a car crash or a shambles. This is the correct decision. He should never have been appointed in the first place. We were destined for a relegation battle with him. Let's just hope we go for an experienced Championship manager....bring back Curbs.7

It's not that interesting though, is it? Just gonna be another network clone who'll be given the same threadbare squad to work with.ValleyGary said:We are a sack of shit sometimes. Interesting to see who he brings in, prob Luzon or Freye.

What's the history with Freye and Luzon??! We hadn't won since early November someone said earlier, and we were heading for the bottom three.3

Our soul has been sucked dry
Agree with this last paragraph. The club do not deserve my cash so will now spend my hard earned on other, more worthwhile pastimes.AFKABartram said:Thing is, a managerial change normally brings excitement.
We know however there is a good chance it will be this Luzon flop, inexperienced Freye, or some other Belgium or network related non-entity. Riga maybe, but his chance to build on his momentum was six months ago.
Can understand why so many are becoming a bit exhausted with this club. It's not just losing games, it's losing it's soul and it's losing it's character.
Very sad to report that and never happened before, even in many previous lows.

Sadly, because I don't like seeing people fail, this captures exactly how I feel about it. The poor football was one thing but he did seem to have alienated a lot of the players and destroyed some pretty fragile confidence. I just hope we don't get another European nobody.Lincsaddick said:I'm surprised but not upset and pleased that the owner has had the balls to sack a manager who's lost the plot as well as (reportedly) the dressing room .. This could revive our season

Well hope those who moan and groan are happy now! Thanks Bob for all you hage done.2

But Peeters had lost the plot, probably the players and given our present lack of form and performance, most managers in this day and age would have been sacked.AFKABartram said:Thing is, a managerial changePeetr normally brings excitement.

You and I know that IF we win the next couple under a new manager, all the hand wringing and crocodile tears over Peeters will stop and there will be joyful posts about how Roland is a genius and the new man a miracle worker .. I also hope that the new man is not another 'network' lapdog but let's wait and see .. Peeters had lost it and now he's gone .. Come on you Addicks !!!!9 -

Which makes me think rumors of losing the dressing room is correct and Roly felt he had to act.LuckyReds said:

don't worry bob, there might be an opening soon at the toolbox.1

I liked big Bob, gutted.7

And no doubt on a 6 month contract for ease of disposal in June.MrLargo said:

Swapping one network nobody for another. No biggy.7

Seriously, what has he done that will be remembered in a years time?addickedandy said:Well hope those who moan and groan are happy now! Thanks Bob for all you hage done.

Bloody hell. New manager/coach/stooge is going to have instant results or there's going to be big trouble in little Charlton I fear...0
-
No it hasn't. Peeters has produced the worst football in the last 20 years.wmcf123 said:
The football has been a lot better than it was under Powell, other than the Blackburn cup game and for the first half yesterdayRaplhMilne said:
Bloody hell you watching the same team as me for the last 3 months ?wmcf123 said:Shocking decision. A rough run lately but he is tactically aware and has improved the standard of football enormously. Why would another network unknown do any better?

This is absolutely apposite. The club wonders why supporters aren't flooding through the gates and this is it. We can't stay emotionally involved with something that changes with the wind.Addickted4life said:Roland has taught me not to get attached to anything or anyone.
I feel no emotion with this sacking.
I await the next sacrifice he shall place in the dugout, until they to are replaced like a part in a machine.
It really is time to commit to a manager who knows English football, has been effective at this level and give him the time, autonomy and backing to make it succeed. There is no true accountability without empowerment.
And most importantly, give the supporters something to believe in again, somewhere to leave their heart.11 -
I hadn't even heard of the 2 people who got sacked with him24
-
No wonder the standard fans are pissed off with this arsehole, turning us into a joke of a football club.any plans we had made have been thrown completely out the window. Peeters was losing the plot but I can see why now with Roland above him. Relegation scrap here we go0

About the only Charlton manager not to have lost to Millwall.Fortune 82nd Minute said:
