Great. Another one who hardly scores.1

Experienced? Yes, but is he a hold up man?0

Looks like he's a hold up player. If he can do that well we should see more goals from Vetokele/Watt and some of the midfielders. We need signings to ensure we stay up, if we can't find an affordable goalscoring target man we at least need a target man that can help get more goals out of the rest of the team.0 -
Better than the Tuc.1
-
Used to be a fairly decent player. If he can still do 90 minutes he could be a good foil for Igor and Watt.1
-
Championship experienced player that we require. Or would we all rather have another Network player like Reza?1

Hey, don't forget Simon. We all know a church depends on a good service.......The Red Robin said:Used to be a fairly decent player. If he can still do 90 minutes he could be a good foil for Igor and Watt.

You don't want to moan but....
11 goals in his last 120 apps.3 -
Good player, would have him like a shot.
Strong defensively and is a physical presence up front.

Always used to sign him for my Charlton FM team, sign him up.0

Absolutely this, couldn't care less about his goalscoring record. If he does what Carlo used to for the team, that'll do for me.Henry Irving said:Good player, would have him like a shot.

He broadly fits a description I've heard of what we are looking at (British or British based big hold up man) - as well as a creative midfielder.
Presumably it will be a loan. If so I think @scoham makes a fair conclusion. If he can do the job well, then he would allow us to play 4-4-2 with either Vetokele or Watt. Suddenly gives us options up front.
You could not call it an "investment" in the squad. But probably you can't expect that given all the other turmoil at this time. The task is to reverse the steep decline and stabilise the thing. And then, come May, learn lessons.6 -
He will be a Decent signing in my opinion0
-
Too early. We won't get him until the last minute.1
-
If he can hold the ball up fine by me as we have Igor and Watt to score the goals.1
-
Better than the Tuc.
So am I.1 -

Has played with Delort so should be able to perform to the same level with another shit striker in Simon Church2

Ridiculous. So a year ago he sells Kermogant for a couple of hundred grand cos he's ageing and now we're thinking of signing this guy?
He might be alright despite his abysmal goal record, and I obviously hope to god he does well - but if he is why is available from a side in the relegation zone?
That Belgian plonker makes no sense.14 -
Did he not learn any fucking lessons this time last season? How much schooling does he bloody need?PragueAddick said:And then, come May, learn lessons.

Being generous maybe he, or his advisors, have learnt from their mistakes.paulsturgess said:Ridiculous. So a year ago he sells Kermogant for a couple of hundred grand cos he's ageing and now we're thinking of signing this guy?

I tend to believe that RD listens to people he trusts (Luzon, Duhan, Fraeye) and not to those he doesn't (Powell).3 -

That's it though Henry. Everything's so reactive. He dumped a load of players on Powell and sacked him presumably because he couldn't make it work with them, then went out in the summer and signed the sort of players (vetokele and gudmundsson) that Powell had been telling him we desperately needed. Then he dumped a load more on peeters, sacked him cos he wasn't doing the job with them; and a week later is going out to try quick fixes for the problems that peeters had identified.
I know there are other factors / variables, but his strategies are ludicrous and make no sense. Everything he does just seems to me to underline what a pig-headed arrogant **** he is.3 -
We have players who have goals in them, they just need more chances to be created up the pitch. If we sign a really decent hold up man who can help us build higher up the pitch his goal tally won't matter all that much. If it's true at the very least it'll look like we're addressing the correct concerns in the squad which at this point is enough for me.2

Who's his agent?0

though it isn't clear if Makay is working for Wigan or Fortune in that case0 -
I gather this has come from The Sun, if so how did anybody find this out? I mean there is no reason to read that rag anymore.0
-
He scored the winner against us last year at Wigan if I remember right.1
-
I don't care if he doesn't score a single goal all season if he can hold the ball up and bring our midfield and Vetokele/Watt into play, allowing them to score.8
