Spent today at Tunbridge Wells and witnessed this superb and unexpected victory. Just need to find more consistency. Young Hunn looks a very good prospect.
I went to Tunbridge Wells yesterday too. What a day to choose: glorious weather; a record score on home soil by Kent; maiden century by Sam Billings; also a fantastic leg side catch by him; excellent bowling by Hunn and Haggett; and a huge win. Pint or two of Sptifire and a 99 ice cream too. Brilliant day.
After topping the table, Kent Spitfires will host a home T20 Quarter Final on Saturday 15 August at 2.30pm and a bumper crowd is expected.
Tickets for the NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence will go on general sale on Friday 24 July at 10am via www.kentcricketshop.co.uk. Kent Cricket Members have exclusive access to buy tickets for the last-eight clash at Canterbury from Thursday 23 July at 10am, before the general sale begins 24 hours later. Members will also receive a 50% discount on the general sale price. Advance public tickets will cost £25 for ground entry, £30 for Frank Woolley Stand and £5 for under 16s.
Kent CEO Jamie Clifford said: “It has been a good year for our team, with qualification before the final two rounds of the competition a tremendous achievement. We are very pleased to be able to offer our Members special access to the match and maintain the same advance price for under 16s of just £5. The prices are in keeping with last year’s Royal London One-Day Cup quarter-final and our previous T20 finals match in 2009. I look forward to a bumper crowd and encourage all to take advantage of the easy print at home option on our website with no booking fee.”
After a sell-out capacity crowd at the last NatWest T20 Blast group game, supporters are advised to book early to avoid missing out.
Gates will open at 12.30pm on Saturday 15 August with all the usual entertainment including the Spitfire Sweethearts, Victa the mascot and an opportunity to meet the Spitfires squad afterwards at the post-match signing session.
The opponent will be determined after the final round of North Group games on Friday night.
Didn't wanna start another thread on cricket but can anyone tell me why the T20 groups will end up with each team playing 14 matches when there's 9 teams in each division? I thought it would be home and away against the other 8 so be 16 games.
Sorry if I've 'Colined' someone else on this thread.

Teams do not play twice home and away like football. It's pot luck when the fixtures are generated.
For example Kent only played Middlesex away this season. I guess the English summer isn't long enough for 18 games of cricket

For those who have a spare few minutes, Seb has uploaded the following video of him wicket keeping training in the back garden. The first (and longest section) is him catching an "incrediball" which, for the uninitiated, is a spherical like object with bits sticking out of it causing the "ball" to bounce in an irrational manner.
The much shorter second and third sections are catching a tennis and then golf ball respectively.
I hope that you do enjoy this and apologies for the washing line in the background - top video director he ain't but he might make a keeper yet!
Will have to have a look at that in the morning. Hope recent weather not ruined too many games for him.
Seb played again for the Bexley 6ths on Saturday and whilst he only made four with the bat (got one that climbed on him and he was caught at gully - and when you're only 2ft 6in quite a lot climb) he stood up to everyone bar one of the eight bowlers used, letting no byes through and taking a catch and a stumping with no chances missed.
He has a District game tomorrow against a touring side from Jersey, a Bexley 6th team match on Saturday and then we're off to Taunton next week for a County tournament. All very tiring stuff. And that's just me!

Thanks for the updates, AA.
Good luck to Seb for all those forthcoming matches & have a great trip to Zummerset.

Just logged on to see this unbelievable result !
Will this kick start our season , albeit belatedly ?
We're hoping to drive to the Derby game, see Kent at Trent Bridge on the Monday then our lads at the City Ground the following evening.
Am I being a tad optimistic to suggest "we" could win all 3 ?

Will be in Derby ...
But presumably that's good news for our Kent lads with my track record.

Should be a good score to defend.
