    Just to emphasise the quality of Coneygree's win, compare the time difference between the GC and Foxhunter in the last 8 Festivals:

    2015: 17.30 secs
    2014: 6.62 secs
    2013: 10.44 secs
    2012: 8.21 secs
    2011: 7.50 secs
    2010: 12.1 secs
    2009: 9.35 secs
    2008: 13.36 secs

    That makes the difference between Coneygree and On The Fringe approx 68 lengths and puts him almost 1.5 furlongs clear of Paint The Clouds. Of course the placed horses in the GC deserve huge credit too.

    Totally agree. A vintage Gold Cup for sure and no obvious had luck stories. If you add the likes of Don Poli and Vautour into the mix, next year's Gold Cup could be amongst the most competitive in living memory.
