A list of some of the teams Burnley may (but probably will not) face on their journey to qualification for the Europa League group phase.

Maybe we can follow Burnley's qualification campaign throughout the summer ? Even they don't get the Fair Play spot (and they won't get the Fair Play spot) we could follow them on a theoretical qualification run.
The fair play league is about so much more that yellow and red cards. Respect towards opposition, respect shown to match officials, fair play throughout the 90 minutes. These are all "scored" somehow. Nobody will know who has it until the end of the season. Counting cards isn't gonna work.
It's far too long and more often than not spoils the domestic season.
Far to long if u enter in the group stages you don't pay that many more games than Champions League
no difference with playing Wednesday-Saturday and Thursday-Sunday, clubs use Europa League as an excuse for a poor league showing, lets be honest if Liverpool had been in the Europa League everyone would be saying that is why the are so poor this season, but because they was in the Champions League no-one has mentioned it

More games nonetheless. Many people said not being in Europe last season played a big part in Liverpool's title challenge.
its a European competition, which now the winners get a place in the Champions League winners also go into the European super cup
clubs like Tottenham, Everton and Liverpool who say they don't want to play in Europa league are idiots IMO
The competition is too long, if you come through qualifying it's something like 16 games just to reach the final. The bigger premier league clubs aren't really that interested because they hope to qualify for the CL through their league position and the smaller clubs struggle because they simply don't have big enough squads to cope with all the extra games.
2 pages on the off chance we might have to play Burnley on a Sunday home or away next season. @Stig to determine whether or not I should continue to open this thread, could you give me/us any idea of the probability of this happening?

Again is it really to long if you are a spurs or liverpool 4th in the prem its 15 games to reach champions league final 5th in the prem its 15 games to reach europa league final

You only have to look at how seriously these teams take the Europa league to know it is too long.
Think of the money involved, one comp brings you a small fortune, the other can cost you money.
Easy money today Sunderland to beat Everton and West Ham to lose to villa
Neither want that spot and neither will try to get it
Be yellows and reds if it looks likely or just lose 2 of last three
???
Winning or losing won't make them more or less likely to qualify for the fair play place. The one team that has already qualified for a fair play place is UCD, who were relegated in their league.
well slim chance I know but we might have a Sunday game if they play Europa league on a Thursday
Is this really worth a new thread ?
Which existing thread would the hypothetical possibility of Burnley possibly getting a Europa Cup spot in odd circumstances which will almost certainly have no impact at all on Charlton (and will probably/certainly never happen anyway) fit into ?
more likely to happen than not England have been given an extra spot Liverpool will finish in the top 7 so Burnley who will be in the championship next season have as much of a chance as West Ham and Everton
So a one in three chance is more likely to happen than not ?
Please never gamble.
more likely than before this was announced and they have as much chance as the other 2
So it isn't "more likely than not" then ?
P.S - I'm just going to see how long you can try and defend an un-defendable comment
you comment is more un-defendable as I said you saying it will probably/certainly never happen is completely wrong, making it sound like a 1 in a million chance rather than a 1 in 3
if someone said you have a 1 in 3 chance of winning the lottery I would love them odds
But if you had a 1 in 3 chance of anything lottery/Europa/Katy Perry it would still be more unlikely to happen than it would be to happen - that's objectively and statistically true.
Again, Ladbrokes are not your friend.

What a wonderful summer we have lined up.
Just think of the possible new thread titles

It also shows the importance of education.
