Your top 5 spectator sports - outside of football

Thought it would make a nice real time comparison to the other thread:

Mine -

1) F1. Tarnished now the cars don't sound so hair raisingly brilliant, but as a petrol head I will always be in love with it. To see an F1 car at full speed in real life is one of the best sites in sport.
2) Rugby Union. Will always watch the big international games, and am looking forward to the world cup.
3) Cricket. So easy to watch and while away a summer afternoon
4) Baseball. Boston Red Sox are my second sports club love. Once you go to the US and attend a game, it is easy to fall in love with it. So much depth to the game
5) Tennis. Love Wimbledon, and will always follow Murray through the slams.

  • 1) NHL (ICE HOCKEY)
    2) NFL (AMERICAN FOOTBALL)
    3) CRICKET
    4) BASEBALL
    5) NRL (RUGBY LEAGUE)

  • 1) Rugby League
    2) 20/20 Cricket (IPL only really)
That's actually it for me I think, only 2 sports I will bother to watch outside of football.
  • Boxing
    Darts
    Test Cricket

Are they only sports I'd watch other than footy

    1) Cricket - test mainly but I can deal with the shorter versions.
    2) Cycling - only the top tours
    3) Boxing
    4) Golf - majors only
    5) Snooker

I guess rugby union could be counted but I watch the five above more throughout a year. I also watch horse and dog racing more than rugby actually.

    1. Athletics (mainly British interest)
    2. Boxing (must have British interest)
    3. Rugby Union (England internationals only)
    4. Golf (majors only)
    5. Darts (Worlds at Christmas only)

Would also watch swimming and triathlon if British interest, or Cricket (England only)
  • Cricket (above football, I'm afraid)
    Squash
    Baseball
    Moto GP
    Tennis
  • Cricket
    Snooker
    Tennis
    Golf
    3-Cushion Billiards
  • Rugby Union is the only other sport I have paid money to watch

Perhaps 20/20 if my mate pulls his finger out
  • Rugby, especially sevens tournaments.
Cricket if you have the time
    Golf, especially ladies tournaments
Boxing as long as its a close match-up and not just Anthony Joshua turning someone's lights off in 30 seconds; and of course
    Ladies' beach volleyball

If that lot was all on sky at the same time I'd be doing a lot of channel hopping
  • In no particular order:

    Cricket
    Rugby (Union)
    NHL (US ice hockey)
    Baseball
    Boxing

F1 is the only sport I sit all the way through, despite its obvious flaws, but I really enjoy baseball and basketball when I get a chance to watch the WS or Play Offs.

Golf and Cricket have massively grown on me as I've got older, I think Sky's coverage of both is exceptional which made both more accessible.

IMO Darts is not a sport any more than Run the Risk or Double Dare was. Snooker likewise. It's like a traveling circus of smartly dressed performers with a remarkably boring main attraction.
  • My second sport is easily cricket, especially internationals (as Kent always lose when I go to see them). Live, the sun and beer add to the occasion :-)

After that it's tricky to rank. Probably

Tennis - I really enjoyed my day at Wimbledon this year
F1, though my interest is waning
Rugby Union, though I find it far less interesting to watch than football, especially when it's a succession of penalties for 'technical' offences or Snooker

Not a single sport, but the Summer Olympics would definitely also be in my top 5, I find the occasion really sweeps you along and for 2 weeks you end up watching all sorts of odd sports!
  • Kabaddi. I'd still get up early on a Sunday if Kabaddi was on.
  • Cycling
    Boxing
    Athletics
    Rugby League
Chess (although it is not a sport!)
  • Cricket ( more than football )
    Boxing
    UFC/MMA
    Tennis
    Speedway
  • In no particular order...

    (1) Cycling
    (2) Tennis
    (3) Speedway
    (4) Formula One

As already mentioned if I could add then I would include the Summer and Winter Olympics
  • Cricket
    Golf
    Tennis
    Athletics
    Gymnastics

But actually, I think I would watch any sport for any length of time and end up quite obsessed. Bowls, curling, darts, horse racing loads of the paralympic sports that i'd never seen before etc. I love sporting competitions really I think - and like someone said earlier - the elite doing what they are best at is often v inspiring no matter what the sport.

Wouldn't watch wwf type wrestling because that's all made up and a big rip off and not a sport at all. It's a coreographed dance.
  • Cricket
    Rugby Union
    Tennis
    Golf (Majors)
    Athletics
  • American Football
    Cricket
    Golf
    Baseball
    Ice Hockey

But I'll watch anything if I can bet on it
  • Anything if it involves England
