Better, Kelly Cates clearly stated that they will be showing the leagues "In Order" at the start, still don't like the gormless crowd standing around though.

Far better. I can live with that ok. Just get rid of the audience, so pointless and so ugly (am I allowed to say that ?)

I'd also get rid of the player/ex-players. They are ok, but I think they slightly detract, rather than add to the programme.

Especially as Virgo spoils the footage, by telling you what is about to happen. Shut up you doppy twat.

Oh and in the Blackpool footage, I think I'm right in saying, that they didn't say who the opposition were.

The opposition was Rochdale, but they didn't say it and I first thought it was Wigan. It was only about 3% better than last week mainly because Michael Vaughan wasn't there.
If you're going to have an audience standing around then use them, or allow them to sit down. Virgo is incomprehensible, and there looks to be a theme of 'guests' who have played Leyton Orient that day, I would guess the studio is in London.
It is very poor still, but at least the running order of games made some kind of sense.
The presenters add nothing, and actually detract if they don't give basic information like who Blackpool were playing.

why have an audience ? Only the Pope, comedian, singers, dancers, strippers and Soapbox sam should have an audience.
If you must have them, sit them down give them a cup of coffee and a paper and tell them to talk among themselves. Otherwise have a big screen and show them watching another channel. It was better, but only because the expectations were lower this week.

2.36 on sky. better than chan 5.
Another assist by Simon from Bauer pass for Tony's goal.
How many deflected shots did Derby have which could have gone in ?
When Hamer was in goal they always found the bacK of the net, not his fault but maybe our luck is improving. No complaints with the free kick, even thou it was a soft one. would liked to have seen the couple of decent saves that Pope made.

it was marginally better, where did the dig up virgo, is he the snooker players son? don't like the audience, what's the point of them?

and those league table boards, reminds of the free cardboard one I got out of the " lion " comic when I was a kid.

How about ditching the gormless ex-pros and camera shy audience?

Anyway, the only audience that have a chance to prove they are not gormless are those on Question Time.

And they're usually fascist, insane or both.
Question Time audiences are generally as far removed from the right as you can get. Usually leftist students who wouldn't recognise the real world if it bit them in the arse!!

Actually it would be quite funny to have them in the background analysing the matches. You could have some around a table moving Subbuteo figures and discussing formations, another group by a big screen moving yellow and red circles like on Sky Sports, three more supporters behind desks in a studio like on MOTD, some just around a table with a pint like in the pub, and so on.
Meanwhile Virgo and Cates can carry on sounding like the gormless ones. Then suddenly that Harry Enfield character appears shouting 'Oiiii Virgo - noooo!'

So you've got to be right wing to understand the 'real world'?

At least they stopped that notice of jumping from one league to another and back again. seeing all the goals from one league at a time works, it is like following a story for each league particularly as the season goes on and results start to move teams in and out trouble or promotion spots.

Quite liked how they displayed the teams' scoreline at the end of each game, with their position in the league and an arrow to show if they've moved. Worked well.

For crying out loud, how has a discussion about the Football League Show turned into left vs right?

I think the show this week was pretty much what it should be.

Virgo isn't great but hopefully will grow into the role. He had a minor improvement from last week.

This week's guest Jamie Cureton was too quiet and not a great guest but this is a one off, hopefully Clint Hill next week will be better.

Cates and Riley are very good IMHO, I like them both. And the audience shut up this week which was good.

sky+ it and I watched it for as long as it took to FF to our goals....then deleted it and suddenly realised I wanted to watch Coventry's 4 goals...

Saturdays programme was much better, well in the right order anyway! Jamie Curetons goal was class,. He's very small, always wanted us to sign him bit late now though

All of you giving it a smidgeon of positive feedback are traitors to the football league show and the modern day Gods of football punditry that were Claridge and Leroy. Virgo's snazzy suits and giant head is a distraction. Confused Chinese exchange students in the audience who have been forced to go there by their universities as some sort of pro bono football league partnership. Stupid cardboard league tables. The ridiculous opening tune with an over the top 4 minute warning style siren. #longlivethefls

Is there an alternative to this show for the midweek games? I always found it was difficult to get a show that showed all the Football League goals back to back like you can get on a Saturday.

I watched Sky Sports News last night but they spent half the time talking about Man United winning a game against Brugges and what Andy Cole was saying about it on Twitter.

Taking to a Dutch guy on holiday he is distraught that he can't get FL highlights in Holland anymore. Ch 5 do not have the European licence ... Anyone got any idea who has?
