£200k profit next year when the hammers will be in it for 5 months of the year so when they're using it for 11 months of the season that's £440k profit ! Although I'm sure there are 5 more events taking place that all lose £1m each and profits from West Ham are covering those losses Or Vinci now come under more scrutiny because what are they creaming off the deal .....
Budget year is from April, so that's 8 months.
But they won't be playing in it for the first time till August
Sorry to change the subject but I’ve got a great deal if anybody is interested? I have seen a second hand Austin Metro going for nothing – yes no cost all. Now, I don’t want one of those, but if it could be converted to a Lotus Elan, then it would meet my needs perfectly. I can’t afford to buy an Elan outright, but it should only cost you about £26k to convert the Metro into one. Then you can rent it to me for a whopping £2 a year. Think about it – it would mean you are making £2 profit every year. Any takers?
Very disapointed. None of you lot can see a good deal if it is staring you in the face. I'll run it past somebody who works for the government. They will know it's a great deal.

Someone should step in and save the day. It'll only be a white elephant on your driveway otherwise.

OK, but only on the condition that once I've run it into the ground you refurb it as new or replace it with a new one.

... and the £2 a year does include insurance, road tax and MOT ?
Are you insinuating Prague that a peerage has been granted in exchange for this OS deal ? Can you or your mates at the Daily Mail back that up with some substantial proof or facts ? If you are refering to Brady, I thought you said it was a bad deal for the taxpayer anyway, so why would Brady get a peerage as reward on top of already negotiating such a good deal for West Ham ? Thin ice territory I reckon. Can you plse get up the number of signatures on your petition so we finally get the 100.000 votes and get the debate in parliament out of the way soon ?

A significant percentage of peerages are bought - it's called 'rewards for donating to a political party'!

says the West Ham fan who 'insinuated' that Daniel Levy had something to do with the fire at Archway Steel on Paxton Road about 20 or so pages back...without any substantial proof or facts.
You know a good deal when you see it GEE. How about you rent me the car. I do expect insurance, road tax and VAT but am willing to sell my old car for £5k and give you £50 of that. That is on top of the £2 a year rental fee. You know it makes sense.

To be fair - Brady could get a peerage for the furtherment of women, through her services to soft porn, rather than anything she has done for West Ham.

Banter-! Now, much as I admire many things about Germany, I fear banter isn't a German strength.
But while you are here ( do you ever leave?) perhaps you can help us. why DID Brady get her peerage? Unfortunately our anachronistic system does not demand any reason be given, but I keep reading about her being an ambassador to small business and entrepreneurship. It's just that if you examine her cv, you won't find any example of her actually doing these things. She's never founded and built any business. She's been Sullivan's hired hand since she was 23; he was apparently impressed by her exceptional commitment to closing deals, selling ad space for LBC.
So since I have set up and run one more SME than she has I kind of figured I could get a peerage too. Or was there some other reason? Can you help us with it?
No, I can't help you there I'm afraid. I don't think you can just apply for a peerage (you should know, you live in your country, don't you?), but it sure helps if you have a network of friends and associates in the corridors of power who can put in a good word for you. So Prague, good luck with your attempt to becoming Lord Addick of Zizkov (or wherever in Prague your place of residence is). I'm not sure though at all if Brady's peerage would have anything to do with her role at West Ham.

So you don't think the peerage is anything to do with the Olympic Stadium; you don't deny that she has never done anything in business but work for Gold and Sullivan; and you do concede that "a network of friends and associates in the corridors of power who can put in a good word for you."
And how do you make these "friends and associates" when all you've ever done is run two football clubs, one of them no bigger than Charlton? I mean you know, West Ham United FC is not actually that important to the British nation, even if the level of delusion within your fanbase on that subject is at heroic level.
And while it's none of your business, I live a bit nearer Prague airport than Zizkov. That's why I often get to the Valley quicker (and for less cost) than one of our esteemed posters on here who comes up from Plymouth.
You're right, it's none of my business. It's also not my job to find out what Brady may have done in her life or not to deserve a peerage. In all honesty, it's good for her obviously. I suppose the level of delusion is similar at most clubs, yours and mine included. I think for instance that you lot are deluded if you honestly think you can change anything about the OS deal at this late stage with the help of some investigative journos from the Daily mail and another one from the BBC who supports another football club too and might for that reason be somewhat biased in his reporting. You certainly won't convince the government to giving you any more information on this deal on the back of a lousy 40.000 signatures. I think I've overstayed my welcome, cheerio!

Cheerio, Karen.
Karren, if you please.
Well, Baroness Brady to you
Sorry - I normally call her Kaz.
But if we're going to be picky - Baroness Brady of Knightsbridge if you don't mind! For services to entertainment (adult).
Wasn't she made a Baroness so that she could swell Tory ranks in the House of Lords following her appointment as a small business ambassador. #justsaying

Of course without the conversion, even if it lost £1m a year it would take 213 years before we'd be worse off than today's 'small profit'.
