Well, Mr W got an interesting email today. He secured us tickets at quite a cost for the Ireland v Italy rugby WC match at the OS. we received said tickets a few weeks ago. But today we have been asked to return them since it seems the view will be restricted so they are going to change them for us.
Either dear old Baroness Brady is having a laugh with me or someone has made a bit of a cock-up. Bet it is something to do with the "Westhamification" in any case...
Wasn't she made a Baroness so that she could swell Tory ranks in the House of Lords following her appointment as a small business ambassador. #justsaying
Can anyone explain to (not just) me, how you become an ambassador for something of which you have no real life experience?
And having managed that, how then do you get a peerage for your work which involves you banging on about something you yourself have never done?
Are you insinuating Prague that a peerage has been granted in exchange for this OS deal ? Can you or your mates at the Daily Mail back that up with some substantial proof or facts?
says the West Ham fan who 'insinuated' that Daniel Levy had something to do with the fire at Archway Steel on Paxton Road about 20 or so pages back...without any substantial proof or facts.

Are you sure she's the "Small Business" ambassador and not the "Solomon Islands" ambassador? Some Polynesian country names are pronounced strangely

That's Politics for you @PragueAddick - she is one of so many who get political appointments they have no experience to merit!
1. Osborne - degree in modern history - SPAD - no business or economics experience - now Chancellor of the Exchequer
2. Danny Alexander - press officer - Director of Communication - then Chief Secretary to The Treasury.
There is an almost endless list of people holding down political jobs who have no discernable experience for the role they are given. At least Karren has actually worked in business.

Why would Brady have anything to do with a rugby match?
You're right, it's none of my business. It's also not my job to find out what Brady may have done in her life or not to deserve a peerage. In all honesty, it's good for her obviously. I suppose the level of delusion is similar at most clubs, yours and mine included. I think for instance that you lot are deluded if you honestly think you can change anything about the OS deal at this late stage with the help of some investigative journos from the Daily mail and another one from the BBC who supports another football club too and might for that reason be somewhat biased in his reporting. You certainly won't convince the government to giving you any more information on this deal on the back of a lousy 40.000 signatures. I think I've overstayed my welcome, cheerio!
Damnit, we've had biased journalists all the way along. If only we'd got that epitome of objectivity Martin Samuel on the case @PragueAddick ...

There is one small difference between the two you mention above, and Baroness Brady. The first two were elected by us. Should they fail on the job, due to their lack of relevant experience, we can kick them out.
You also say that Karren Brady has "worked in business". But what outstanding achievement,in business terms, can she claim?
Well, she has held two senior positions in a male dominated environment. So have a lot of other outstanding women. And if we get promoted I propose we petition for Baroness Meire of Sint-Truiden.
Otherwise, she has held two CEO positions at football clubs. Do Birmingham fans look back with approval at her work, as we generally do with Peter Varney?
Then there is her tenure at West Ham. Of course under her stewardship the shareholders (Gullivan) have seen the value of their investment rise fourfold in just five years. Remarkable work, Baroness. Outstanding. James Dyson, eat your heart out!
Now, how exactly did she achieve that? Will she tell the story on Dragons Den or something?

Gavin Redknap? You'll find him underneath just about any piece on the subject. He's got nothing particularly striking to say. In fact it is striking how as a fan base they are not organised. All the other London clubs are, except for our friends at the Toolbox. We are meeting up with reps from at minimum five other Trusts in Central London on Monday.
The WHU fans really do swallow everything the porn brothers tell them don't they.
Do you really believe it would be that different if it was happening to us?
I do. Even our more recent history tells us we have a fan base that is very prepared to question board decisions, direction and motives. It wasn't that long ago that supporters organised the meeting in Woolwich after all.
I read in another article about this, that the council has a restriction on the number of events that can held at Wembley. I wonder if Newham has any restriction as to the number of events that can be held at the OS.
Ha, I wonder who will win that battle. Moneybags Russian or tight@rse Levy. Off to MK Dons we go
I know of a stadium down the road in East London that might be available...at the right price...and only if the sitting tenant is okay with you using it when they aren't themselves...and if you don't mind claret and blue.
Seriously, isn't the fact Spurs are looking for a temporary home and we have available a tax payer funded, (now) purpose built, state of the art football ground a few miles away and they don't even seem to be considering it, further evidence that WHU have got this deal stitched up tighter than ducks backside?
What a perfect opportunity to get a few million quid back into the public coffers and it just doesn't seem to be on the agenda.

I've read in several places, think it may have been Brady herself, or was it Gullivan, that the deal they struck ensure no other PL team could share the ground. I'm also aware that the deal WHU struck with the Upton Park developers that there is a clause to stop any other team from playing there (or something like that!)

Yet it is one of the many clauses totally redacted in the current release of the contract under FOI. Frankly I don't know why she didn't keep her gob shut on this, because I promise you we are all over it in respect of Chelsea and Spurs needing a new temporary home.

Clue: not a bag you would be charged 5p for
