Shame to loose our little undefeated streak but it will be good to have a few weeks to regroup and reduce the injury hit list ... Hopefully one or two more in should shore us up as well!
Can't take the result to heart as of course there's along way to go yet!1 -
Big Mac's unfortunate injury was a hinderence. However being 1-0 up, gutted didn't hold onto a draw. Surprised Ojo didn't start, decent player. Be interesting to see what happens about Henry now...0

How bad is the injury?0

I think Luzon should go all out and sign Henry - it sounded from doing the match thread he had a great game and beat the ever dependable Solly on more than one occasion. With injuries mounting up we need a few more bodies into our squad.

always disappointing to lose a lead, shame to lose Makienok so early.
re-group and on to next game.
it could be worse, we could be Millwall.5 -

2 observations.
1. We need to sign Henry
2. We have 2 weeks to get some injured players back fit1 -
It would have been nice to get something from the game, but it's been a good opening 5 games given the opposition played so far.
Add to the squad before the deadline, get healthy and come out firing after the international break.

Yes, we would have taken this start and we know when we can play our strongest side we are more than competitive. We need a couple more in of the right calibre and this could be a good season. Our next two are very winnable.2
-
Got what we deserved - sloppy throughout and strangely lacking in intensity. A definite wake up call against a mediocre side.
We need 2-3 reinforcements before the window closes.4 -
Henry looked good.
We looked good at the start of the 2nd half but without Watt, Mak and a fully fit Igor we were lacking that extra quality but only just though. 2 weeks off we have a great start to build from2 -
Makienok's injury put a bit of dampening on the afternoon. Good to see Gudmundsson back in good form. Injuries was the name of the game today and if the squad was fitter maybe the result is different. The international break is coming at a perfect time and hopefully everyone will be ready to go in two weeks. If Mak's injury is anything serious, then Guy needs to get signing. The next few days could be vital to our season depending on how many bodies we get in. Guy knows what we need, but he needs to make it happen.1

For sure but these are the sort of games we underwhelm in...MuttleyCAFC said:Yes, we would have taken this start and we know when we can play our strongest side we are more than competitive. Sorry, definately off to sulk now, adios amigos!0 -
Just back to the car. Got what we deserved. Nothing. Poor show. Both teams crap first half, not much better second half. Wolves missed two absolute sitters so could have been much worse.
Missed the first 10mins as well.
Losing Makienok left us powderpuff upfront. Igor was nowhere near ready to play 75mins.
Hugely disappointing all round.
Kashi getting booked so early really affected him as well.
Having said all of that if Begditch gets his head up and squares it to Igor at 1-0 it could have been game over.
As for Henry, wouldn't pay 100k let alone 500k on that showing.3 -
Sounds like our thin squad caught up with us today, come on Roland get those extra few players in before the window shuts, we have a good manager and some good players, that little extra support and this season can be a great one.

Maks injury showed just how key he is tot he way we play! Without him it was very much like last year with igor up top as our only option and not much of an out ball!
We need a back up to big mak I know we have lots of strikers but they are all the type of player to play alongside hI'm! We need someone who can cover for him if injury/fatigue/whatever happens.1 -
What did Igor look like when he came on? Is he just lacking a bit of match fitness?0
-
Sounds like we missed Harriot ; - )
International break comes at a good time now. Get some players fit, get some others in and Ansah back.
Down to 8th as every result went against us.
At least Millwall lost.1 -

We would have taken two wins, two draws and one defeat (not to mention two cup wins) during the month of august like a shot before we started. Not to mention very promising signs that at least half of our new recruits have strengthened the team. A defeat now gives us a bit of perspective and saves us all getting carried away.
the lessons are:
1. We do new two or three more quality recruits.
2. We mybe need to have a look at our training methods to see whether any if the injuries are avoidable. Not too concerned as most that I am aware of hve been the result of heavy tackles.
A good month. So far so good. Not unduly worried about today.2 -
Carrying some timber. Dead on his feet for the last 15mins.creepyaddick said:What did Igor look like when he came on? Is he just lacking a bit of match fitness?
