Quite an interesting article in the WSC article highlighted by Kentred2. Its focus lies elsewhere and it's pretty neutral in relation to RD - "the electronics billionaire and political theorist...who bought Alcorcon on the cheap in January 2014" - although the only synergy referred to is "Alcorcon and Charlton wearing one another's colours as away kits in 2015-16." A little tangential but no doubt a suitable bulk kit discount was negotiated ......
Good to hear that Marko Dmitrovic is doing well.
Keep the updates coming please guys. I saw them beat Tenerife (replete with Miguel Alonso) 3-2 in 2011 in an excellent game during a football watching weekend in Madrid. Most enjoyable it was too, supping a beer in the midday sun and heat.
Dermot Corrigan describes Duchatelet's plan for Alcoron as "building sustainably towards the top flight, while introducing synergies between his various clubs." In Decembers WSC.
That's the kind of blue sky thinking we need on a go-forward basis.
Now that you're starting to do it, cabbles, I note that there are a lot of moving parts in this model, but we are where we are. I think we need to focus on the core brand values of this project. Therefore I suggest that we might take this offline and reach out to key stakeholders so we can establish if there are any learnings and best practices to utilise going forward

That's a great picture of him though. Oozing success in his pool on his island, just thinking about what his next business/entrepreneur/motivation quote might be.
I'd go for "being an entrepreneur is in your blood, it's your oxygen. You breathe in and exhale the challenge of running a business every day, you don't do this for the money. The money is secondary."
Lost 3-0 yesterday away to Madrid rivals Leganes and now down to 12th. Early season good form has turned and looks like it is gong to be another mediocre season.

Beat top of the table Osasuna yesterday and back in the playoff places. RD must be happy one of his teams are doing well, although he never makes any appearances in Madrid either.
Actually Jena are doing ok too. They lost at home today, which ended a good run. But the other week they gave Stuttgart a run for their money in the Cup, eventually going down 2-0. The place was packed out - 18,000. The stadium isn't supposed to be able to hold that many but every news outlet gave the same figure.
Ujpest seem to be ok too. We are the current under performers.
For VfB Stuttgart's Cup visit to Jena the stadium's temporary capacity boosted to 13800 for the previous round's visit of HSV Hamburg was further raised to 18000 - and a night game, too. I need to check but I think FCC were allowed to re-install their 70metre+ floodlights.
Today's (home) defeat was only FCC's second of the season but sadly it was to one of their closest rivals. Even so, they have conceded a mere 6 goals so far. The top of the division (one club promoted) is eye-wateringly tight.
No question - at present CAFC are the reluctant holders of the Network's wooden spoon ....
New president will be Ignacio Legido, who had previously been his main spokesman here. Like at Charlton, RD never actually speaks or appears. Interestingly, my paper says he is not being able to continue as president because of his ' various obligations in his own country'. There is no mention of Charlton in the article, whereas most previous pieces have highlighted the connection.
Alcorcon are currently sixth after 18 games, five points behind joint leaders Alaves and Cordoba.
Are currently nicely placed in fourth at the turn of the year, five points off Alaves at the top. All of this seems to have been done without messing about with the coach or players and keeping a Spanish core on the pitch as well as (from what I can see) Spanish board, chairman etc. RD does seem to run it on completely different lines to us, and this stable approach is giving them a decent chance of promotion, which would give them a massive increase in income.
Fans seem happy at standard of play, improved stadium and lack of meddling from the owner. Why can't this be the case for us?
Another interesting point is that David Rodriguez is currently top scorer in the Second Division. Still reckon he could do a job for us, although it might represent a step down for him now with a decent chance of the playoffs for Alcorcon at the moment.
Manager there is Juan Ramón López Muñi who was previously assistant at Dnipro. Is there any link to the network or any agents with him, or even the owner of Dnipro or is it just us who get dumped with crap coaches?
Alcorcon don't really seem to have 'benefitted' from the network much, with only Marko coming from us and a couple of Standard Liege players in loan in the past, from what I can remember. RD pretty much seems to leave them to get on with it!

This what I find puzzling about the whole RD thing. He has a different approach at each club. If it worked the way we suppose, then we should be seeing good Alcorcon players coming to us, the new top of the pyramid. Instead we send them a decent keeper, and that's it.
Seems to be settling down at Ujpest too. Why are we getting all this grief?
@CharltonMadrid, what are the gates like now? still sort of 3,000?
Generally less than 3000, which makes their achievement in competing with some of the big clubs like Alaves, Osusuna and Oviedo (who get around 10,000) even more impressive.
No TV deal for free television either this year, so reduced income there. They were on a lot last year. Segunda liga games are on subscription channels though. Need to write another message on their board soon and report back.
One nil home win tonight against Girona for 'the team that Karel built' (nonsense). This has put Alcorcon second, in the automatic promotion places, overnight although some of their rivals are playing tomorrow.
