We had horrendous injury list last season surely we deserve a bit of luck this year !!!!!

Little to do with luck all to do with how KM runs the club, she ain't got a clue.
Hardly her fault with muscle strains and broken foot
Signing cheap, injury prone players is her fault though Col..
  • Depressing news about Kashi, and from previous experience when they announce 'Kashi likely to be out for up to 4 months' we should expect around 6 month's delay. Sorry to be so pessimistic!!
  • There is bad luck, then there is bad medical and physio performances.

Our injuries seem dragged out and not really solved, what on Earth has been going on.

I hope this new medical team make strides in us becoming a healthy match fit squad. Leicester's science and medical team were pointed out as direct key positives for winning the title, as their player maintenance meant the starting 11 could be churned out week in week out.

But buying serial injured players is and having a lack of back up for those who become injured.

If the replacement is not selling Cousins that wold show some intent

    But cousins wants to go
I don't want to go into work tomorrow but I've signed a contract saying I will. Although he will be sold, if he is told to stay as he has 3 or 4 years left on his contract then he stays. Simple philosophy really
  • While they're both half decent players, a midfield of Crofts and O'Hara wouldn't exactly fill me with confidence for next year.

With Jackson, Muldoon and Ba i think that is decent for league 1. And Diarra might be fit sometimes too.

Same medical team as when we got promoted ??
Let's not forget the medical team that treated Clive Mendonca wrongly for 8 months
Today these players have the best private medical , doctors and specialists at their call so to blame a club medical staff is very wide of the mark .....
How is it wide of the mark with our injuries the past season?

If this is the best specialists, then our players bodies must be made from lollipop sticks and newspaper.

Not saying all to blame but there has to be question marks.

    Must be another reason then?

Bad luck or bad selection of injury prone players coupled with poor preparation ie "shambles" of a pre-season when half the squad couldn't play on St Truiden's plastic pitch?

At least Solly and Jackson are fit so not all doom and gloom.

When Cousins is sold a new midfielder will come in, possibly David Davis. I am sure a new centre back is on the agenda as well. But i heard nobody coming in before Gudmundsson and Cousins are sold.

I'd heard we had offered someone a contract, waiting on response

    I assume it's Crofts ?

O'Hara was mentioned but not heard that he's been offered anything.

Hope we're not waiting until JBG and Cousins are sold and so miss out on replacements.
I heard that the Gudmundsson deal is going through on Monday and the Transfer fee with QPR is close to being agreed for Cousins.

At least it sounds as though they are guaranteed to be used for transfers...
How do you come to that conclusion?
  • With cousins all but gone, we definitely need reinforcements in centre midfield. And not just Crofts. It needs to be him and OHara or whoever otherwise we're going back down the same road as the last few seasons. An Unbalanced and underfunded squad.

It's nothing to do with luck

Oh come on. We'd be lucky to stay up, if they were our midfield.
  • We're just getting all the injuries out the way early this year...

    Or so KM thinks.

I said as well as Crofts and O'Hara. I think that six is decent cover for two centre midfield places given that Diarra is injured and Jackson won't be doing 90 minutes twice a week for 9 months.
  • A great way to damage someone’s career on a personal level too. How will Vetokele, Kashi and Bauer look back and rue their lost time, with innocuous injuries perhaps hurting them in later life?

Seemingly the last medical team were brought in on the absolute cheap as well. You pay peanuts you get monkeys.
  • I can't remember a time when we've lost players for so long to such relatively minor injuries

We've had too many injuries for it to be bad luck. Same with signings, we've simply signed too many poor and/or unsuitable players.

How did Leicester keep players fit and avoid injuries? It wasn't luck - http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36189778

Southampton keep selling players on for profit and continue to replace them with the right players. Not luck either - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur/11236180/Who-is-Paul-Mitchell-and-why-have-Tottenham-Hotspur-prised-Southamptons-head-of-recruitment-away.html

Watford are in a network like us, it wasn't luck that made it work better than ours - https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/aug/04/pozzo-family-fuelled-watford-premier-league-dreams

Under RD and Meire we've got so many things wrong and a big part of that is trying to cut costs and take shortcuts in areas you can't afford to. Clubs that invest in these areas and get it right see the benefits. Of course you also need to find the right manager/head coach and give them time.

Aye lad. You make your own luck.
  • Well we got rid of the old medical team. Must have been a reason.
  • Kashi had months of rest, played a couple of games, two months more rest now injured. Surely time for surgery?
  • Whilst i fully agree that we've definitely had too many injuries for it to be bad luck, a look at Kashi's playing record suggests he didn't have too many injuries before signing for us.

The length of time he has been out, big question mark he can come back as the same player! If I was Slade i'd tell Cousins that he is my captain and he shouldn't have signed a contract if he wanted to leave. I'd say I wanted to plan my team that wins promotion to the premiership next season, around him. This level provides him with the opportunity to work on the weaker areas of his game.
  • A club would do well to replace an influential CM like Kashi, or Cousins before the season starts. This club, well, won't.
  • Unless Cousins has a buy out clause we do not have to sell.

He maybe unhappy but he would get over it.

    Or he does a Parker

Ha. Just lost to Bromley, although I grant you the mighty Wah Ba wasn't playing.
