Disagree... I think Drugovich or another youngster from F2 who has impressed would have been a better replacement, instead of an ageing driver who has had plenty of opportunities in the Sport now.
Only good thing, is it creates a potential route into F1 for Bearman, provided he wins F2 next year, and if Hulkenberg isn't on a very long Contract himself - How Haas have treated Schumacher at times this year (He's had his crashes, but has been consistently faster), whilst sucking off Magnussen though makes me feel that Haas would be a bad route for Ollie.

To some extent I agree, however it's Haas. They don't have the luxury of bringing through a young potential talent. They need points and have a comparatively small budget. Some of Schumacher's crashes have cost the team points and millions in repairs that they can't really afford. I think they want Hulkenberg's experience to, hopefully, finish more races in the points, crash less and also get some valuable feedback from an experienced driver...don't thick Schumacher, or any of the F2 youngsters, would be able to do that...
Bit worrying for Sargeant today... He's spun out in both F2 and FP1 practice today.
Needs to relax, as bet he'll feel a bit of pressure on his shoulders this weekend, to ensure he gets the SuperLicense points to qualify for F1 next season.
Williams might want to just think about that other option (whatever it is)... Just in case
Sargeant is a lucky boy today... Had a shocking start in the F2 Sprint, got his place back after a red flag (Which involved two rivals crashing out), locked up and flat spotted half way into the race, and only kept Doohan behind him because its a shite circuit.
The kid is understandably nervous, and I like that Williams are actually using their Academy, instead of just loaning drivers (Whats the point in the former existing) - But based on this weekend alone, you have to think that he's not ready for the top tier.
Sargeant finishes P5 in the Feature Race... Only Lawson finishes ahead of him in the race, meaning Logan gets P4 in the Championship, and the License Points to race in F1 next season
Have to say, one of the less memorable races of the season. Glad to see Seb get to the end in one piece.
Abu Dhabi is always shite... Its a joke it gets to end the season, when Brazil nearly always provides a memorable race, but then money talks.
AD should be reporting to trading standards, only time its ever produced a memorable race, was last year - Even that was boring as fuck for the most part, barring the Perez defence on Hamilton (Loved seeing him pay back Checo this year), and then the farce at the end.
Bet of a moist squid that one. Emphasised though that Max’s selfishness last week did prove impacting.
Hope Williams have a better car for next year
To be fair had Perez finished a place higher last week, he'd have ended the season a point behind Leclerc, instead of the three that has he done - Red Bull worked together though last season to ensure that Max beat Hamilton, surprised they didnt turn the tables with letting Perez take the win here.
Ferrari wouldnt have had it easy, getting past Verstappen in P2
Who really cares who finishes second in a championship. First loser etc. it’s more the principal of Verstappen’s behaviour and lack of teamwork.
It might come back to bite Verstappen and Red Bull. Dream scenario would be next season Checco has a chance to help Verstappen in a tight title fight vs Hamilton or Leclerc and tells the team to go eff themselves, handing the title to Verstappen’s rival.
It feels like Verstappen needs some consequences that Horner is not going to give him. Realistically I think Checco knows he’s pretty fortunate to be in a front running car and will toe the line again next season. Maybe Red Bull will announce mid-season they are dropping him for Ricciardo and Checco will stop giving one.
Bearman-Watch ..... and young Oli made a big impression in his first F2 test in Abu Dhabi.
Spoke to Dave Bearman (his old man) today. Oli was P3 on day 1, and then day 2 went heavier on fuel doing race runs all day. But fuel corrected they reckon he was top 2.
First time in the car. I will put money he will be in F1 (probably Haas with the Ferrari links) in 2024.

And only 17 years old.
Cheers Damo... Gonna be watching F2 with great interest next because of him - Already been keeping an eye on Practice for that reason... "Yayy" to him ending up at Haas though
Jost Capito has resigned as Williams TP - Be very surprised if he ended up as the new TP @ Ferrari (Not that I've heard anything), be a shame not to see him on the Grid next season

Sounds like from the head of Dorilton that Capito is retiring completely. Don't see an obvious replacement for him though
Gonna be musical chairs around the TP Paddock this winter
Sounds like Andreas Seidl is going to replace him @ Alfa Romeo, and lead the transition to Audi
Seidl for me is the shock of the winter. I know he obviously came from Porsches very successful Le Mans team but I felt like everything good about the McLaren revival came from him.
Not sure how they go about replacing him , I assume Binotto isn't allowed to join another team immediately.
Teams need to bugger off opposing more teams now!!
Honestly think Andretti had to come with something like this to stand a chance. So a major car manufacturer that's new to the sport , huge venture capital backing and the Andretti name. Surely this has everything that FOM wants from a new entry?
Fantastic documentary about Jackie Stewart (called Stewart) currently available on SKY. Some of the in car footage shows just how skittish the cars were and bloody dangerous it was back then (and still is to a lesser extent). So many of his fellow competitors and close friends were killed. Even now, 50 years after the death of his young teammate Francois Cevert, he broke down when recounting the incident.
Interesting him talking about his dyslexia and how little was known about it when he was young. My old man was a big fan and for his 65th I got him a signed copy of his book from an event in Canary Wharf. As we queued up you had to write your name on a post it beforehand and asked if he could wish my old man a happy 65th as well. Was told no, he's only writing your name. Was a bit put out until I read the book and realised his condition. He even managed to keep it from his wife.

Great team work from Verstappen who didnt need the win

Despite the Ferrari statement a few weeks ago

Seidl is CEO and not Team Principal which is interesting
Could make things a little interesting
Huge breaking news that Andretti are teaming up with GM to launch a bid for the 11th team
