Didn't expect to see Charles on pole! That was a mega lap.
Hopefully, he can carry that pace into the race. Don't want to see another Red Bull win.
I expect as soon as DRS is enabled he'll get murdered by the Red Bulls down that long start/finish straight, even though they have shortened the DRS zone a bit.
That's exactly what I'm expecting but I live in hope.
  • Quite enjoyed watching a second Qualifying session, better than a pointless Free Practice where there is no jeopardy watching.

Although tell that to Logan Sargeant, wont be surprised if he isnt involved later on

    Leclerc got away with it

    OLLIE F**KING BEARMAN - WHAT A DRIVE!!!!!!
  • Finally... He puts in the type of performance that showed how much he deserves to be in Formula 2

Got a strong dose of luck in the process, and thought the last restart against Daruvala was a bit too conservative, but in hindsight think he was the only one with the sense to be cautious on his brakes
  • Massively lucky to get the win but Bearman drove a perfect race.
  • Pahahaha... Hook Verstappen's whinging to my veins about being squeezed!!

If he tries to go round the outside (round the outside!), surely on a tight street circuit like this he has to yield to the racing line.  Granted Russell went a little wider but why the hell not, he's got the right to do that to stitch Verstappen up?  Fair assessment?
  • Ah. well the result was up for debate until lap 8 (3-4 of which were under yellows!). Jeez.
  • Can we drop to eight teams if it means Red Bull fuck off, along with AlphaTauri

I have no issue with their dominating

But the fact they always play the victims... GP telling Max that they know how to overtake cleanly

    Absolute bullshit

Classless as ever from Verstappen at the end , hope Toto is straight down there to deal with him

  • Is what happens when Red Bull allow that little prick to act like he can get away with everything

It's a shame because they've got some cracking junior talent in the lower formulae. Can see the 2 AT drivers getting ditched for Liam Lawson and whoever places higher of Iwasa/Hauger.
  • With the pace that the Premas have shown all weekend, I am expecting Bearman to win comfortably today.

His tyre management needs improvement though I've found, so wont be surprised if he doesnt.

    Great start from him though
  • Pourchaire, with DRS, easily takes the lead.

Like I said the other day he needs to start driving smart and not just fast.
  • Bearman retakes the lead. DRS is so strong.
  • Great move from Bearman to get the lead back , needs to gap Pourchaire now to the pitstops.
  • Phew... Nice tidy pit stop from both PREMA and ART

This is a decent battle between Bearman and Pourchaire

  • Good pitstop for Bearman. So far, so good.
  • Is there a plastic bag in front of Bearman's car?
  • Bearman looking comfortable at the moment, so much so he is not being shown.

Top performance Bearman - Put himself right into the Championship fight with this result

Just need to start seeing consistency from him now

Only missed out on the Fastest Lap to secure maximum points from the entire weekend
  • No luck about that win. Very assured all weekend.
    Finally, starts his F2 season.
  • Fantastic mature drive from Bearman. Joins the illustrious Double Wins club with Hamilton, Rosberg, Hulkenberg and Giovinazzi.
  • I'd be curious to see what Bearman's route to F1 would be IF he made it

There is no way he's stepping straight in to replace Carlos Sainz etc. if he were to win the title this year

Haas is the obvious choice, but will they want another rookie after Schumacher

Long way to go in his career yet though

I was just thinking about this. Alfa is being sold to Audi so that's a no go , Haas don't want rookies so I don't see a logical route for Ollie.

    Still very young of course.

He still has a lot to prove before any talk of F1. One swallow doesn't make a Summer.
He needs to show this sort of performance week in, week out.

Isnt 18 for another week either, so at the moment isnt old enough to take part in F1 Free Practice as a Young Driver - This is just one weekend though, Bearman still has a lot to do, might even be worth him deliberately not winning the title this year (If thats possible), so he can at least take part in F2 next year.
