I wonder if Botas will comply with team orders…..which will possibly be at some stage, to allow Lewis to take the lead and hold Verstappen up? Might not come to that of course but interesting to see how he plays it if asked. Realise team orders will have already been decided but that doesn’t mean Botas will necessarily play ball.
1st doesnt seem the place to be for this race... Havent seen the Mexican GP before but the way commentary were talking, combined with the length of the straight; Bottas is going to get swamped by Hamilton / Verstappen as he's just going to give one of the tow down to that first corner.
Imagine the plan will be for Bottas to move over to "cover" Hamilton
He'll then get the slipstream from Bottas, whilst Verstappen will be hoping that he too can get across to squeeze in behind Bottas, yet ahead of Hamilton - Similar to the Russian GP start where George Russell came very close to getting the tow from Lando Norris, yet it was Sainz who ended up benefiting the most.
The Dutch Dickhead seems to think 3rd on the grid is better just for the tow from pole.
Whilst ignoring that the Mercedes is quicker in a straight line, and relying on Bottas driving straight.
Not to mention he needs to get his own rear wing sorted... To imagine that some fans on Social Media thought that accidents avoided; Verstappen had this season tied up after his win in Austin.

I don’t mind that kind of positive spin for the cameras so much. That’s all part of the game.
What I don’t like is how he again unnecessarily and wrongly called another driver an idiot. This time Tsunoda (or maybe Perez? But probably Tsunoda) for having the gall to lose control of the car and then to further have the gall to try to recover when the supreme being Max Verstappen is in the vicinity. He needs to learn to respect his peers. He’s young, highly talented, fast and exciting to watch, but he’s also arrogant, entitled, selfish, obnoxious, disrespectful and a bully.
The stories I have from the karting paddock on Max Verstappen and his old man…… a pair of monumental dick heads of the highest order. Hamilton, Russell, Norris, Leclerc generally well respected as competing as youngsters in the right way.
Anyone crossed Max and his old man would resort to violence straight away. He is a very unpleasant individual and I think the apple very rarely falls far from the tree in terms of Max.
Got to question why Bottas didn’t move further left on that straight after the start. Verstappen would’ve had no route round him as Hamilton had closed the door on his right. Bizarre.
Felt Bottas saw an opportunity to, shall we say, either be overtaken at the start by either Hamilton or Verstappen.
He didn't move over to the clean part of the track and left a massive gap for Verstappen to drive through on the racing line whilst making life very difficult for Hamilton.
Was probably too pre-occupied with letting Hamilton through that he didnt notice Verstappen down the other side.
Its not like he tried to defend that first place down to the corner.
Although dont overly think that it would have mattered too much today
Agreed. Might have made the race a bit more interesting at the front, but it just felt like the Red Bulls had too much and would’ve got past eventually.
As it was, Perez may well have got second if he’d come in at the same time as Hamilton. Mercedes just couldn’t compete and Hamilton did well to hang on to second in the end.
Yeah I can't see Hamilton catching him now. Shame.
Neither do I - the only way he can is if Max has a DNF.
Mercedes (and I suspect Hamilton) are focused on next season with the new regs- that's where their development has been taking place this season.
I think all teams have been focused on next season for a while now. Haas for instance haven't developed this car at all all season and basically wrote 2021 off from the start.
I'm very excited to see what next season holds already, some new circuits, new regulations and hopefully new rivalries, however I feel the season overall is far too long now, we're in November and there's still 4 races to go, it's crazy how long it's dragged out for

They get their first at a Red Bull stronghold!!

This is going all the way to Abu Dhabi

Good that Perez got a podium.
This world championship is pretty much over now though, sadly. The Red Bulls are just too fast.
Knew it would be the moment Verstappen took the lead, although was a brilliant move on the first lap
