The wfie has been out with the sister-in-laws since lunchtime.  This may work...
  • Been some great overtaking from Hamilton here
  • Lewis having a brilliant race up to 5th. Some great driving.
  • Hamilton is so good. Well played Bottas as well.
  • Lewis is a bit good isn’t he
    GOAT

Not surprising that was the best Sprint race of the season

Bono you little tease on the radio :D

  • Lando came across like a petulant child unfortunately. Swearing and dismissive of Lewis in the interview I saw. Bit of a shame - we are blessed with some great young British talent in the wings but show some respect to the 7 times world champion please.
  • Just watched the Sprint Race……absolute master class from Hamilton.
He’s an absolute genius, there’s not another driver out there who comes near him, poetry in motion.

is this the F1 thread or kiss Hamilton's ass thread - maybe there is a reason other drivers are not keen on him !!
It's the latter but don't worry, like me you can ignore the xenophobia and enjoy F1 without this thread
  • I bet $25m a year Verstappen (and that's just his Red Bull salary) will be gutted at being fined 50k. That's probably like us being fined £50.
  • Thought Sainz went a bit under the radar yesterday. Very strong drive to hold off Checo who I thought was just going to cruise past.

If Ferrari and it's a big if , can build a strong car for next season then that will be a very interesting intra team battle with Leclerc.

Before the race I thought that P5 would be a spectacular effort from Lewis , only went and did it.

Probably gets more than £50k in bonuses a weekend.
  • It isn't a matter of liking Hamilton or even loving him. It is a case of observing the truth of the matter and not allowing negative or indeed positive thoughts to cloud what that truth is. Verstappen may or may not surpass his achievements but we probably have to wait 10 years to find out!

Hamilton penalised because his rear wing opened up 0.2mm too far.

0.2mm FFS. I know the aerodynamics of the DRS system can have a big effect on the straights - but 19 place grid penalty and the subsequent chances of him losing the World Championship by a couple of points for 0.2mm is ridiculous.

And the talk of Hamilton love in is pathetic. Plenty of people want to see all the Brits do well, Vettel has earned a lot more respect since he's gained a sense of humour and joined Aston Martin, fans want to see the like of Cheko, Alonso, Gasly and Leclerc do well - anyone but the Dutch Dickhead who is clearly a nasty bit of work and has shown on at least four occasions that if he feels he's going to lose out he sees it as an opportunity to take out another driver by reckless driving.

It always seems to be the guy that's beating him as well. Don't forget he nearly killed Hamilton earlier in the season and just walked away without a second glance at him.
It's not ridiculous, it's quite literally the rules, doesn't matter if it's 0.2mm or 10cm, it was too big.

Nearly killed Hamilton? Do me a favour haha, I see you fail to mention Hamilton putting Max in the wall at one of the fastest corners in the season in Copse.

I agree - it’s a breach of the rules and a clear penalty. My son lost the British title two years ago when he his exhaust seal was 0.05mm too large due to excess burning. Rules are rules - still hurts now but that’s motorsport.

Incidentally why do you hate Lewis so much? I know you think he is utter filth - we have had his conversation which is your view.

But more importantly and on a positive  - who is your favourite? I don’t think we have ever found out. Lando? George? Sainz? Danny Ric? A team? Genuinely curious - I am thinking it must be someone who Lewis has been up against in battle
  • For the Championship really hope we get a Hamilton win and Verstappen DNF, a minor one in the pits though ideally.
  • Time for Max vs Lewis

What a great couple of laps from Perez

Favourite driver currently is Sainz, reckon he got a really tough deal at Red Bull, and is a prefect fit for Ferrari long term, in fact him and Leclerc together is, IMO, the most balanced and talented pairing on the grid.

Hamilton for me, I have never disregarded his driving ability or his accolades, and whilst I'd argue that his car in this era has been just as, if not more dominant than Schumi in the Ferrari in the early noughties, it's his personality that grates on me, he's fake as hell, all the partying in his younger years, jetsetting here there and everywhere, being the face of fashion labels and other endorsements, like Monster Energy and Tommy Hilfiger, but then suddenly he's all "save the planet, be humble, remember where you came from". And the mask slips sometimes, like when he called Stevenage the slums for example.

But yeah I get that my view of him is against the grain and accept that my view may well be completely wrong and actually he's an amazing guy, but unfortunately I think that actually he's a hypocritical arsehole

The wheel was only in contact with Hamilton for a small amount of time, and Max didn't try and accelerate at that time anyway (not that you give a toss about the facts)

200mph into a tyre barrier is a much larger threat to a man's life IMO

You realise that drivers have been killed by tyres?
