It was last season and they charged about £1 for it.

This went down like a sack of spuds and I believe they have reverted back to a 'normal' programme.

Rick will start employing all the previous program sellers to sell VOTV in the new season then! ;) Then we can moan how he's been so selfish to have a price increase to £3 to pay them Comm. The moaning wheel carries on! @Airman Brown

Have been looking at both the Football League and Football Association websites. Have found only these two references to match programmes so far on the Football League website:

    "

21.2 At each First Team match all accredited media representatives (including, by way of example only, journalists, broadcasters and photographers accredited either by The League or Football Data Co Limited) shall be provided with:

    (a) a printed team sheet; and
    (b) a match programme,

in each case free of charge
    "

    "
    76 Programme Advertising / Editorial

    76.1 Each Club must make available;

76.1.1 one half page of advertising or editorial material in match programmes for the benefit of The Football Foundation or any successor; and

76.1.2 one full page of advertising or editorial material in match programmes for the benefit of The League to promote League initiatives.

Couldn't find anything on the FA's website but from the above it looks unlikely that KM will be able to get her wish.

Edit: from which I mean if her wish is to get rid of it altogether

To be honest of all the things that are wrong with the club at the moment I couldn't care less if there was a programme or not. ( no offence to those who produce it).

An erosion of tradition or a trailblazing visionary?

I imagine first team to do away with the half time score boards got grief too.

What a strange turn of events...........
Thought the programme had just won an award!. so this is the thanks eh!

Why ten pages, seems a very wasteful way to produce a leaflet, but then the size was non standard compared to most in the football league according to
the previous Print Director, from BIshops........ that Bradshaw decided to replace two seasons ago?

I have heard people trying to replace print, with electronic interactive pdf's, produced a couple myself a couple of 10 years ago.

You do away with the print costs, delivery and print times, as you could produce them and send out or link to a site and you could use the url's to advertisers websites, produce niche advertisers advetorials etc. So I am guessing you could buy a ticket electronically, get a code, and download or access the programme.

BUT, you still have to generate the material, and maybe for Arsenal, Chelsea, etc for advertisers for the numbers involved and the European games....... but CAFC?

The other thing is the programme is a collectable item. not sure people want to collect leaflets. but hey people collect matchbox's.
Did suggest to Bradshaw that you could download the programme a week later after the game from the website if you are a season ticket holder with 'page suite' ( as you have the pdf already)

Oh well that leaves the trust news, and VOTV more opportunities .

I would have thought @Airman Brown would have heard about such a plan before Jimmy Stone, who used to be such a fan of KM...

Maybe I've misunderstood this post but what on earth are you talking about?

    And Jimmy would know......

Well yeah, I'd imagine he would. Would there be many better placed people than someone who was very recently part of the comms team (and so working on the programme) for a number of years and no doubt friendly with the staff left behind?

I seem to remember on an earlier thread a proposal not to purchase any ancillary items that benefit the club (i.e. Roland) including programmes. Maybe KM's just catching up on her Charlton Life reading and trying to make the first move!

Can't pretend to be pissed about something potentially being lost that I didn't buy for a number of years.

It's rather strange self destructive and odd decision though. Basically saying the wheels have stopped turning.

Katrien mostly behaves like a stupid spoilt kid and it stands out like a saw thumb.

    No class or dignity.

It's completely RD's fault for the incredible ill judged decision to hire her for this position anyway .

Honestly we have stopped buying programmes. Not due to boycott just the fact that we are all carrying computers with us that tell us everything. This is the way life is going eith free newspapers etc. So not suprised or bothered

Haha, I'm so sorry - that's the worst thing I've ever called someone !

In Germany they give them away, but they are quite impressive publications, not ten pages of adverts.

If it is traditional and it works scrap it.

Well it was on Saturday when I spoke to Prague and Rich in the Swan , and still free!.......
Interesting that she believes that this 'leaflet' will full fill the criteria, you could make it a 'gatefold' and have it as a large poster pull out A2 size. That was how Felix Dennis made his money years ago with all those Kungfu, and soft porn magazines.

You could even make an 'app' with the help of the MA students at the UoG......... If only someone could design such a thing?

Anything is possible as she gears the club down to run like a sport and social club combined with a puppy farm. Cruella De Ville?

She is more a modernised pc Scrooge, laughing at doing the programme sellers out of the "little extra" they use to feed their kids.

I'm convinced next years kits will be 'glow in the dark' ones. We'll supply the visitors with our away kit, have fluorescent tube goalposts and paint the lines with delboys London Underground paint. If Roland can just patent his illuminous football we can do away with the floodlights.

Everything that is good about OUR club, she wants to get rid of! Get her out, now!

If its going to be filled with loads of Adverts maybe they could trial this new programme on Saturday by just having a one page programme advertising for a Championship Manager.

To be honest I agree with her, the Programme is simply filled with news that we can get from the O/S... Oh hang on!!

    FFS!! :(

Assume this is for my post? (how very dare you!)

It's not just the mess - although that will piss off local residents, the council etc, but it costs to get people to clear stuff up. It's a big problem on the railways.

No @Arsenetatters it wasn't directed at your post but at that idea of scrapping the programme.
