The banner protest was not a visual success - that was obvious. Half of that was due to me not being able to produce the numbers that CARD wanted and the other half was the stewards tok a hell of a lot of them off of people as they were entering the stadium. Also the damn penalty. Unfair to blame CARD for any of that.
Did it have the desired effect anyway ? I'd say yes. The club were obviously rattled by it. Extra police on almost every stairwell, extra stewards who had been told not to let any banners in the stadium at each turnstile, that all costs EXTRA MONEY that I'd guess wasn't in the budget which good ol uncle Roly and the Kat hate spending!
Not to mention a charlton PR guff special by being on such an anti banner hype they managed to take down and confiscate Seb's.
The billboard is quality, some protests are going to be better than others, get behind each one as much as you can, we may be getting stuffed on the pitch but we are certainly winning off of it

Assuming that the club has no right to keep the confiscated banners, have they been returned????
If not, and not for one instant suggesting that anyone would want to waste the club's time and money, but should not the affected parties make arrangements to collect the property at intervals that suit themselves....
Can someone confirm or not. Am currently 10 foot underneath the centre circle. Wifi is patchy, battery is running low. Need to know if still want me to emerge at kick off with my banner.

OneLung, I'm afraid your role in this is to be captured. The future CARD plans that you have on you are false, and is hoped that they will confuse the regime on future protests.
Well done to all those involved in the protests - things may not always work out in a way that has the best effect, but we will learn, adapt and improvise. Remember, this was just one of many, many battles in the war to get our Charlton back.
That some people may choose to sit on the sidelines and bitch rather than offering any constructive criticism or practical ideas of their own says a lot more about them personally than it does about C.A.R.D. It's a shame that some people's egos appear to be more important to them than saving our great club, but then again in certain cases it really is no surprise at all. I am just really grateful that there are so many folk, both here on CL and elsewhere, that are prepared to put their not inconsiderable talents and energy into pushing this protest forward - thank you so much....you are Charlton heroes one and all.
Stay positive, stay united and stay strong and victory will be ours. COYR!

So the pitch invasion is on for the next home game.
Now you've given the game away !
Schuss - that was a pm to Rick that went wrong. I was hoping that nobody noticed my slip up. Another one of those pm's that goes wrong. I blame AFKA and his clunky site.
For those that feel that putting the banners up or protesting doesn't impact on play on the pitch (not me by the way), can the banners go up next time when absolutely sure the ball is at the other end of the pitch ?

As I put on Seb's thread, the instruction to stop the CARD banners coming in was rescinded about 1.30 by Mick Everett. If some stewards were taking them then they were operating different policies in different places and, one way or the other, acting against their instructions.
Watched the game yesterday. I think that it was unfair to boo Fox. He should not have been singled out because I think the whole team were awful. Booing the team as a whole is more effective if that is what you want to achieve. It would show that they were not up to it. Booing an individual makes it personal. How can we expect him to give it his all next time he wears the shirt. I don't think he purposely had a bad game. Players are picked by the manager in our case Coach. It appears that sometimes that's not the case at CAFC as per SCP chat on radio. Fraye was blamed rightly so in his tenure and I think that Riga has to to carry the can now especially for yesterday's performance. Until we can get a Manager who has a real influence in his player recruitment we are going to carry on the same to league 2. Can you imagine our foreign imports surviving in League 1 when they struggle to play Championship football. RD & his cronies are ruining this club with his vision to make money. He is like a person addicted to gambling is convinced he can get the better of the bookies. Call me a cynic but at the beginning of the season I was convinced that we were going to do well and was really shocked about the odds for us to get relegated. If I'm not mistaken don't odds reflect on the amount of money that is bet on certain events. I wonder who put a wedge on us going down..........???

Feel like Stallone in Escape to Victory
' I think you mean protest'
'Yes protest dad, can we protest more.
Dad, can we make sure to not spend any money in the ground this week. I don't want a hotdog, can you bring me a snack instead.'
That was the happiest I was all day
Good lad.
What did the banners say ?
I guess the point was more about being allowed banners?
