Marxism Today was linked to a faction of the old Communist Party and most of its key figures ended up Blairites. I think Mandelson was one of them. If there's two groups who passionately hate each other on the left it's Trots and Stalinists. More than the differences they might have with the right...
I don't like the cult-like approach of Spiked (and it's sports correspondent is Palace) but that piece isn't bad. They do regularly say things just to wind people up, though. (Unusual I know).

@Southbank You're right, they're probably not all minorities. Some of them may just have friends or partners or family who are minorities, and they're scared for their friends. Some of them might be white and gay, and they're scared for themselves. Some of them, like me, might be fair skinned and blue eyed and Jewish, and notice that there are an awful lot of Swastikas going around...

I think here in the UK these incidents are so far mercifully rare (which is not to say that we should ignore it all..), but you never know in the USofA. This is a place that really did lynch people (in my lifetime) just for their skin colour. And they have guns... and significant concentrations of real whackos in pockets.

Forget politics, forget views on immigration or the people who have been left behind, forget left or right, forget revolution, forget the little man speaking, forget working-class, middle-class, upper-class, under-class, forget democracy, forget totalitarianism and so on ......
Remember, Trump is a liar and cheat, a business failure, a chancer who took his moment, an altogether despicable individual. He's in it for the little man queuing up on food lines in the rust belt? Is he bollox.
I think here in the UK these incidents are so far mercifully rare (which is not to say that we should ignore it all..), but you never know in the USofA. This is a place that really did lynch people (in my lifetime) just for their skin colour. And they have guns... and significant concentrations of real whackos in pockets.
