Top female jockey could be an interesting bet, Nina Carberry specialist in Cross Country (normally Bolger trained), Katie Walsh obviously has a bit of racing in her genes, no doubt untold hype around Lizzie Kelly though, but the Victoria Pendleton thing is irksome. Had she spent her teens mucking out, riding out at silly o'clock then fair enough. But she hasn't. Rides that Geraghty picks outside JP could be interesting too.
I wonder after today whether Victoria Pendleton will ride, the pundits on William Hill Radio said she looked like she had butter on her seat.
Her 'riding career' is just a Stewart Family/Paul Nicholls gimmick .. she is a danger to herself and to other jockeys and horses .. the stewards should restrict her to only taking part in lady amateur races where she can do minimal harm
3 weeks today! no im not that sad but racing post app just reminded me.
You're not alone - I'm also counting the days!
Who on here is going? I'm there the first two days and as I'm staying in Cheltenham on the Tuesday and Wednesday nights I may well end up blagging something for the Thursday. Would be good to catch-up with any other Lifers.
just doing a day trip on the Wednesday earliesh train down 9ish and open return back so probably hang about for a little while after have a few more drinks all i can say is thursday at work is going to be a killer, were in the club enclosure 4 of us going.
Currently in Vegas and my luck is shit, following on from my losses with Faugheens withdrawal, I'm hoping the festival can turn my luck back around with my other anti post bets, although I won't be holding my breath.

going by train this year we are on the 10.30 train down is this early enough?, have no idea how long it takes to get from station to racecourse any pointers would be well appreciated.

They run a bus service from the station to the course and there are always lots of them so you shouldn't have to queue too long. It's a short distance to the course but can take 20-30 mins due to the inevitable traffic.
It's quicker to walk or get a taxi then get one of the poxy buses. Last year I got the half 8 train down, always better to give yourself plenty of time. Soak it up, have few beers etc.

We're on the 9.36 arrives 11.52. Bus journey would take 15 mins, with no traffic, but as it's rammed takes a good half hour.
If you're arriving 12.52, you'll be hard pushed to make the first race at 1.30, with the queue to get in & then trying to get a view once you're in.

I agree - you need to get there earlier.
I'll be arriving around 11.00 - the champagne should nicely be chilled by then ;-)
Seven of us going this year, tickets bought, train and hotel booked. We're there Tues and Wed, two days and one night is more than enough at our age. Been going as a group for over 20 years and our average age is now 56.

I'm there those two days as well - but staying both Tues and Weds nights in Cheltenham. God knows what my liver will be like by Thursday morning! (and I'm 58!!).
