Batting first was a silly decision and not playing a 3rd spinner. Morgan never shows up in the big games.

85-7 & another batsman gets himself out. Batting like Blackheath U-12s.

Blackheath U12s are better than that. Not much but still better.

This wasn't a big game on paper. But daft batting first if we won the toss. Against Afghanistan it is best knowing what you have to get and giving them the problem of deciding what is a good score! Still winnable though I we can get it to 130 ish.

Should we open the bowling with Ali or even Rashid?

Shahzad likes nothing better than pace and we need to get him out early. Our "quickies" have been average to say the least.

Willey's not the worst number 9 in the world. In fact, I could think of at least one number 4 who isn't as good!

Nice one Afghanistan, bowl the 19th over of orthodox left-arm spin against two big-hitting lefties :D

142-7, much better than it looked like we'd get at one point

Moeen and Root are England's key players

Back of a length spin is our only hope to get him out real early, he'll rage a shot that isn't there. Any pace bowlers he'll eat up at the flick of a wrist

Not my mate Rashid? This is made for him ;-)

From 85-7, that was a good finish. 142 is a reasonable score to defend against this opposition, providing the bowlers put their brains in gear, unlike the batters. Bayliss should bang their heads together. That smacked of a Big Time Charlie attitude to start with, apart from Vince who looked nervous.

Root may have to bowl 4 overs here

Got to start well - put some pressure on. I think getting that score was massive and I still expect us to win this.

And he can. 4-1 after 3 balls. Really good at swinging his balls is Willey.
  • Perfect length from Willey

Jordan must have some very strong neck muscles.

That chain must weigh a tonne. I think he thinks he is Mr T.

Just taken a wicket - he loves it when a plan comes together.

It would be one of those pound shop goldie looking chains though.

Just like removing Guptill from my Fantasy team gave him a boost, taking Willey out has also had the desired affect!

8.5 runs an over now - those extra runs at the end were crucial.
