  • In theory given Wilder's limitations Joshua could outbox him and win a decision, but the chances that Wilder doesn't land a huge one on him all fight is very slim.
  • As soon as Wilder lands a bomb its game over.
Very few heavyweight 's ever could have recovered the way Fury did.
    AJ will get KO 'd
  • Joshua is scared of getting hit and he's a boxer, not a good combination.

Joshua ended up with a bloody nose and a swollen eye against Helenius which shows he's far too open to get hit, even with this ponderous 'new' strategy.

Wilder KO's him the moment he gets through with a right hand.
  • Joshua is not the great champion some may have thought. He has to fight cautiously and stay behind his jab in the early rounds whoever he fights. It would be stupid of him not to. He could beat Wilder as technically he is a better boxer, but I wouldn't make him favourite because Wilder has that dangerous punch.
  • AJ has genuine knockout power and is a better boxer than Wilder, though i think his only hope is to swarm him from the first bell and try to get him out of there early. Fury has much better footwork and is better technically amd still got tagged a few times, if AJ gets hit with one of those shots, he isnt getting up

Unfortunately AJ has got no ‘swarm’ in the locker now.

His natural aggression has been knocked/trained out of him.

He would lose to Whyte IMO.

I think AJ really wants to show he can be a "proper" boxer and win through technique over power... except that he's not, and he can't.

He's a big guy who can (or could) bully or batter his way through most defence. That's enough for him to be definitely better than the Helenius' out there but he's not and never will be a great technical boxer.
  • AJ is carrying the heavyweight division 😄
  • Personally, I think Wilder is a finished fighter just looking for one more swing and a big payday. He used to fight 2-3 times a year, by the time this fight comes around he’d have fought for less than 3 minutes in 2 years and had just one proper bout (Fury rematch) in 3 years

Agree mate, think since Fury beat the stuffing out of him and he actually earned decent money he has realised one or 2 big fights and done is what he has to do.

To be fair to him... there's not an awful lot else he CAN do. He knows now he's not beating Fury so he's not going to be a champion again unless Fury gives up the belts. He can keep on punching the stuffing out of B and C listers like Helenius or Franklin but either he wins pretty easily (and nobody is particularly interested) or he suffers a shocked defeat and his reputation suffers.

A high profile, big paying bout vs Joshua is by far his best option at the moment.
  • If he beats Joshua then it's only really Usyk he can fight as a worthwhile opponent.

I'd imagine they're the 2 remaining fights he's looking for.
  • Genuinely dont think he would land a punch on Usyk over 12... he is totally wrong for him

Possibly, but as we all know with Wilder in most of his fights (except Fury) he only needs to land one punch and it's goodnight.
  • It is an issue of the heavyweight division in terms of whether the best version of the fighter will be showing up. I think you can include Fury in that.

As Mike Tyson famously said "everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth" - the issue is exacerbated with heavyweights due to the weight of that 'hit in the mouth'.

It's as straightforward as that and I don't think it's anything to do with the best version showing up - any fighter can get caught.

He just looks so afraid of getting hurt, even against some of Helenius' calibre. A fight v Whyte would have been genuinely interesting this time round I think
knew nothing of Helenius, his record looked decent I assume because like many other British heavyweights in recent years he's built that record fighting bums?

Itll be like watching someone dancing around hitting a speed ball. Think itd end up with the ref stopping mid to late rounds due to Wilder looking like a picasso painting
  • Bud saying he would step up to 168 to fight Canelo if (when) he beats Charlo... Now that is a real superfight
  • Anyone gonna be watching the Dubois/Uysk fight tonight?

  • I'll tune it but won't be expecting much. Probably a backfoot masterclass from Uysk.

What times is expected to start?

    About 10pm I think.

    10pm usually isn't it?

Main event that is. There's not much of an undercard.
  • It's on next.

Just watched Naseem Hameds boy fight a mannequin!
  • That’s the worst fight I’ve ever seen.

I watched the weigh in yesterday and it was like a child going up.
  • They missed throwing the towel in ffs. Should be illegal.
  • Dubois is chinny and not technically great... Usyk will work him out in 2 rounds and take him out 4-6 imo
  • Catchy number that Ukranian song
  • Dubois looks terrified in his corner 😂
