Shame Bauer didn't get a run out vs Shrews. Konsa may struggle against Evans. Would be a shame to have a hiccup on his development in his learning phase.

I'm in two minds with Konsa, do you play him until he has a bad game then give him a rest, or do you rest him now and let him go out on a high? A lot of it will probably depend on Bauer's fitness and comfort. He hasn't played a league game since December, so easing him back in will be key as well.
Wouldn't mind seeing Bauer and Konsa against Walsall. From the sounds of things, Pearce has looked solid if unspectacular. That was always my feeling of him when I saw him at Leeds, looked alright, but a bit slow and not great on the ball. A good player to have in the team, but with him and Bauer we have no pace. Konsa seems to have a bit of pace about him (though nothing like Gomez) which could be key.
Top striker at this level. Jessica Ennis whingingnot wanting her club to employ a convicted rapist because it sends a disgusting message about what footballers can get away with, especially when it comes to violence against women has cost United a good strikerconvicted rapist

I kind of get your first points about Konsa and was thinking the same but then you say you'd like to see Peace dropped? Totally irrational, Peace has been better than Konsa and is exactly what we need at this level. Bauer showed last year that he struggled more physically than with anything else so it's vital unless Tex isn't sold that Peace plays along side him.
Yeah I know, it was partly said in jest. she was more than happy to let woman-beater Marlon King run about though.
You don't know that. Why is it her job, and seemingly her job alone at Sheffield United to ensure that the club don't employ people convicted of violence against women? Shouldn't that be...well the job of various people at the club?

I'd be inclined to rest Konsa. He's young and new to league football. Having already played full matches Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, I think there's a risk of over playing him.

if he will be dropped once ze german is fully fit, id keep playing him until Bauer is ready.
the more he has played the better he will cope when called upon.
if tex does stay id even let Konsa go out on loan for a few months before suspensions start kicking in to keep him in the shop window for when we sell him in January playing and learning so he'll be ready for us.
Just think what he could have been if he hadn't gone for sloppy seconds......
Why the flag?
All the way through this story I've felt a particular degree of sadness for the girl at the centre of it. Never felt moved to use a flag before to be honest, but I stand by that one. I think the comment is in really bad taste.

Presumably:
1) Sloppy seconds is a bit degrading and treats the victim in question as if she were a sexual object
2) Oh so similar to "Just think what Brock Turner could have been if he didn't rape someone!" ... Would you like to give the victim some thought, or do they not matter?
3) Who gives a shit what he could have been, he at best made a massive error in judgement that's cost him his career and legal fees etc; or at worst raped somebody.

Ok I see your point now I re read my post. I was meaning it from Ched's point of view - ie what could have been if he hadn't just wanted to have sex with the girl after his mate. I'm fairly sure he didn't see it as rape, although he was convicted. What a waste.

Sloppy seconds IS degrading IMO. But Evans thought it was ok.....
I think Evans is a rapist and shouldn't play again.
I have to admit I can't remember the detail, but I thought she said she couldn't remember what happened, so I'm unclear how she could be lying, if she said she couldn't remember.

Erm.....what about if she could really remember?!?

I thought the whole conviction was based on the fact that the woman was in a state too drunk to consent. Unless I'm mistaken, this was mainly evidenced by her inability to remember.
The man testifying says he had multiple "encounters" with the same woman who never seemed overly drunk but, on every given morning after, claimed to remember nothing.

Surely, that makes her evidence more plausible, as it shows that she never remembers and wasn't lying ?
So could this man just be saying he has had sex with someone on numerous occasions with someone who was too drunk to consent, even if she didn't seem it?

It can work the other way too. If the question is whether Evans engaged in a sexual act while aware that the woman was too drunk to consent, that would be rape.
If the woman doesn't appear to be overly drunk and therefore is able to consent, when does it become an act of rape?
(Really trying not to sound like I'm defending a rapist here. Could never do that. All I'm interested in is the truth and justice, whichever way that happens to be.)

Funny 'ol game.
I do have some sympathy for the victim.

"A man who had sex with a woman two weeks after she accused footballer Ched Evans of rape has come forward because he thinks she is lying, a court heard."

Sounds like a case for Jeremy Kyle!
