No comment whatsoever on yesterday's T20 game. I suspect that the lack of interest is down to the massive gap between the two sides and consequential lack of a contest.
One thing that did strike me is how the game has moved on so far as wicket keeping is concerned. Yesterday we played three "keepers" - Buttler, Bairstow and Billings. None of them would get in an England side as a specialist keeper ahead of the likes of Knott, Taylor, Russell, Read or Foster.
But, there again, you could never have played say Knott or Taylor as a batsman because, not only would their stand alone batting not have been good enough but, you would never have seen them throwing themselves about on the boundary and then launching an exocet into the keeper's gloves.
Very well played last night, we have moved on so much in the short form of the game in a little over a year, we have won 14 of our last 16 T20 internationals.

Agree with the general point but Knotty might have justified a place as a batter with his improvisations.

Agree, Knotty would have made the team - he was such an improviser anyway that T20 would have been right up his street.
Well, we learnt that Buttler isn't a walker. How they could justify giving him MOM after he middled to the keeper on 6 I'll never know
The argument for walking has been going on since on the stone ages. Those that don't walk argue that the bad decisions they get cancel out those when that go in their favour. That's a difficult one to follow at the highest level when there are so many reviews available but, of course, DRS wasn't used last night because the powers that be didn't want to slow the game down! Getting it right in a game that is used to breaks in play is far more important imho.

It reminds me of those Ashes tours down under during the 90s/2000s when England would heavily lose the Tests and then have to endure more misery in the white ball games afterwards, but with Sri Lanka as the tourists who can't wait to go home
This series has been a bit of a disappointment, I expected Sri Lanka to give England more of a game in the ODIs at least
I'm such a walker, last season I walked for a run-out after our umpire didn't give it! And earlier this season I was given not out stumped when it was obviously out, so I played a switch-hit for four then got out stumped on purpose :P
My karmic reward was an email from the ECB today, featuring Joe Root holding up a congratulation board, for scoring a fifty over the weekend. Yeah, they do that now
Ballance has been re-called for Compton, no Stokes, Buttler or Borthwick. Anderson is out injured which is a blow, Toby Roland-Jones or Jake Ball will replace him.
I think Ballance is worth a recall. The whole squad has been rejuvinated under Bayliss, so.I think its only fair that Ballance gets an opportunity working under a coach with a positive attitude.
The thing is, even though most on here disagree with me, that this coaching setup clearly understands that talent alone doesn't necessarily make you a good player at Test level - you need mental toughness too - of which Balance has lots. I believe he will be the No 3 we have been looking for .

Surprised that DRS wasn't available
I walk myself, but don't begrudge those that don't.
It's not their job.
Would have looked strange if people looked back at the scorecard in a few years to see that Buttler didn't win it though!! :-)
Saying that, could quite easily have gone to Dawson to be fair - he was absolutely outstanding.

(Yes he should have been given out).
Our white ball cricket has improved dramatically since Trevor Bayliss has taken over.
If anyone could get me out of course
