Katrien Meire: The Full Statement!

I really cannot see how she can survive this.
That statement is just not retrievable.3 -
I wonder how our old friend Belgiumbun would be defending this...1

"“We spend £30m in less than two years of ownership. And yes, we got it wrong with the managers and the players, but that happens, that’s why clubs get relegated, that doesn’t mean that everything else is shit. "
It's not what you have spent but how and on what. Although I doubt the 30m is a gift.
Also the one real massive piece of shit is the one real massive piece that needed to be managed correctly namely the clubs championship status but hey ho we can all buy the cheapest season tickets in the western world to watch 23 matches of pure shit.

"There is so much abusive language now at The Valley - and that’s not part of football. It’s in their interests to try not to have this behaviour, because now mums with kids won’t come to the games.
The mums and kids want you to fuck off as well, you useless shit.43 -
I reckon the next Voice Of The Valley will be a 100 pager at this rate.
Stop the presses! Hold the front page!

Unbelievable. Not a very professional statement is it! Arrogance. Delusion. Incompetence. Ignorance.
Take your pick.0 -
why they had nothing to do with the two protests mentioned?Addickforlife said:Good opportunity for a statement from @CARD?
they even distanced them self from the Belgian protest?6 -
Pure arrogance, in two years of absolute failure they haven't apologised once. Mistake after mistake. There is no redemption for them, they're done just a question of how long before they realise it.3

Oh grow up. Did you not use the CARD logo on YOUR leaflets?C4FC4L1f3 said:

She said: “For the last couple of months, I’ve had extreme abuse, I’ve had criminal offences committed against myself, and I’m disappointed about governance in sport, that none of the governing bodies contacted me and stood up for the fact that things are not allowed, that’s one step too far.
“I also ask the governing bodies in this country, that sometimes some of the fans have crossed the line, very far, and this is just acceptable. It’s been reported by the media as it’s normal and it’s actually not, and the governing bodies have a responsibility to make people aware that that is not what sport is about.
“They forged my autograph (signature), SO THIS IS THE ONE CRIMINAL OFFENCE they showed up, for example - it’s not a criminal offence - but at my parents’ house in Belgium. They rang, they gave papers, but it’s not that, it’s just in general... to ask if they know me, and they handed out papers to say how shitty I was, to my parents. YES THEY DID AND IT CLEARLY GOT TO YOU AS IT WAS MEANT TO. THANKS FOR LETTING US KNOW. I CAN ONLY GUESS THAT IT WILL NOW HAPPEN AGAIN
“To my parents, and they hang it up in my village.
“Yeah (I want to stay). BUT THE FANS DON'T WANT YOU TO The thing is, I know what they’re trying to do, to break me down, but what I’m most frustrated at is the perception. We’ve got the most affordable season tickets, we invest in our community, No you don't. That is the Community Trust to whom you give no money we invest in our academy. Yes, so you can sell the players. Every sensible club invests in its academy and at Charlton we had a strong academy long before you arrived
“We spend £30m in less than two years of ownership. MOST OF WHICH WAS BUYING THE CLUB. YOu claimed Roland was putting in £1m a month so your figures don't add up And yes, we got it wrong with the managers and the players, Again, again and again but that happens, No it doesn't just happen, it occurs because your whole method of running a football club is wrong that’s why clubs get relegated, that doesn’t mean that everything else is shit. What else is there to football than players and coaches? They are the key elements
“It’s fine, but it’s things that shouldn’t happen, according to me.
“To make me resign as a director at company’s house [fraudulently removed as a director]. They were making fun of it on an online forum. That's because it was fun, it wasn't a criminal offence it was a very funny joke that worked very well at winding you up and amusing the rest of us.
“Me and the owner. It’s fine, I even understand that it’s part of the role that I play, but I feel frustrated by the fact that media reports, all these kind of things - there is so much abusive language now at The Valley - and that’s not part of football. Unfortunately is is It’s in their interests to try not to have this time of behaviour because now mums with kids won’t come to the games. Evidence for this? maybe they won't come because you you , maybe if you left the bad language would stop The chants that are going around, it’s not promoting the sport, and the governing bodies have an interest in trying to stop that. They don't
“Just like when I started supporting football 15 years ago. Whenever there was a black player they would make noises. That has evolved, why can we not also educate fans towards respect of everybody in the game? This is the club, the one you claim to run that lead the way with ant-racism work over 20 years ago, long before Kick it Out. And you are talking about Belguim. Racist chanting had all but disappeared in England by 2001, it certainly had at Charlton
“I know it’s that passion that sometimes makes football so great, but…" You just copied that from one of the speakers, you don't really undertstand what that means

Hi Squirrel Face. If you're having a sneaky look at this thread later this evening with a glass of wine, my sincere advice to you is to drain the bottle.
Then it won't hurt too much when you read that I honestly and truly think you are a complete fruit cake.6 -

They distanced themselves from the protests! why would they then release a statement about a protest they wanted nothing to do with?WSS said:

The changing the name at company's house had nothing to do with them either!
You cant just take the praise! as i and @The_President have found out1 -
Sigh. It's nothing to do with that and who's done what. Stop trying to get attention.C4FC4L1f3 said:

It's to do with the fact that they have come to represent the Charlton fans protesting against Roland and so they will be a credible voice to issue a well worded statement, and in turn make it more likely to get picked up by the press. Surely, if you are protesting for the same reasons this wouldn't bother you?
If you want attention, feel free to issue a statement yourself. Let's see how far that goes.
Now, back to laughing at Katrien.22 -
This really has to be the beginning of the end ...shows her naivety, immaturity and complete lack of professionalism.
She plays the victim yet has nothing to give in return. Never her fault and she is blind to own failings.
She is not even ready to be a department manager let alone CEO.
Just breathtaking in her arrogance.
The racism comment has totally pissed me off ...at Charlton of all clubs!
She really has to have a public response to this.2 -

I honestly thought this was made up, like my first reaction to the Roland statement.
However she said it it seems.
So much to chew on here (she said it in a public forum so reacting to it is fair enough), but one thought I have had is about her support network and who is suggesting stuff to here. Given the nature of the conferences she is so fond of, including hosting a women in football event at the Valley, and given the nature of the support from Jo Tongue, I can easily see the thought process that goes
I am a young woman in sport.
It is a sexist world.
They get at me because I am a woman.
It is a racist world.
Non white people get it because of their race, just as I get it because of my gender.
To attack me is sexist, which is akin to racist, so those who attack me are also racists to all intents and purposes.
Katrien is wrong. She is attacked because she is destroying Charlton Athletic.
P.S.
The stuff about children resonates with a lifer being told by Cojones that it was their six year old that the club want to attract, and also resonates with other stuff the regime have been initiating in trying to get children attached to the club.
The regime is waiting for all us old sexist racists to die basically.
