Didn't Duchatelet under sell Batshuayi (sp?) from Liege? I vaguely recall reading that and his age and fee (£4.5m) suggest so. Marseille certainly ended up with a bargain.
Then I think he replaced him with Tony Watt for a fraction of the 4.5m. Classic RD.
I'm starting to think the increase in the number of teams could be an inspired move. Teams need to get a few games out of the way to gel and to find their pace etc and now the next round of matches could ALL end up being world class games we will end up drooling over
Isn't that the point of all the friendlies..?
No, the friendlies are played to pay off the cost of building Wembley. If the idea of the friendlies was to get the team to gel etc then we would have played more or less the same team for the last few games
Thank god for the knockout stages. Teams not being able to sit back and therefore showing how limited they really are. Let's hope It's the same tomorrow. Hopefully England can get an early goal - and not do the usual tournament thing and drop off.
The cream is starting to rise to the top now, the French looked good, the Germans have moved up a gear and Belgium have impressed. England need a big performance tomorrow.
England getting talked up a lot by Shearer, Lineker and Ferdinand in the studio, about how tomorrow should be a walk in the park. Being set up for a fall at the moment

Germany put Slovakia to the sword pretty easily. England were 0-0. Germany looking pretty decent. France do not look unbeatable & have not played anyone really good so far. Not impressed with the small amount of tickets they are giving the opposition teams. Ireland only got 5,000 out of a stadium of 59,000 capacity. Not impressed with that.
All three games had early goals today which always helps. Belgium played well but Hungary play a very open game and got punished. Germany look the strongest team, but will have a tough match in the quarters.

It was a good contest at 1-0 for most of the match. Once it got to 2-0, Hungary had to push even more men forward, which left lots of space which Belgium could then exploit.
England need to score first, to get opponents to open up a bit, otherwise tomorrow will be a repeat of the Russia and Slovakia games
I like the way Hungary played in the tournament, not just sticking ten men behind the ball. Ok they got stuffed tonight but they gave it a go and were unlucky not to get back in it. It seems to have captured the imagination back in Hungary as well.
All of a sudden I'm glad that we finished 2nd in the group. Wouldn't fancy playing Belgium.
Does Fellani do anything other than foul people? He really is filth.
Only good side they've played has been Italy and they got taken apart.
I'm still not convinced by them yet. They played well tonight tho.
Not quite sure you can say Italy took them apart. Belgium had a lot of the ball and made chances to score. Italy defended like the best back 5 in the tournament, which they are, and then scored one quality goal and one late breakaway. Italy executed their game plan well and deserved the win, but on another day that game still could have gone the other way. Hardly a demolition job.
I've enjoyed watching Hungary, their movement off the ball in attack is very good and commit numbers going forward. If their final ball was as good as Belgium last night they'd have still been in it at the end.
I'm not this current golden generation of Belgiums biggest fan but they were good last night, I'm trying to work out if it's Felaini (spelling) I really don't like.

Said it before the Tournament that Iceland would be the surprise package.
Dont understand why everyone is saying its a humiliation for England think thats harsh on Iceland seeing they did beat Holland twice on the way to Qualifying

Based on what i've seen today, i think i'd actually prefer to be playing France than Belgium in the quarters.

Looking forward to tomorrow's games.
