  • Bob Peeters was not a good manager.

    The end.

I agree although not quite 'The End' because we then got Luzon who was the worst manager in the history of the club before AND after in my opinion.
Apart from the obvious Karel Fraeye answer (never forgive) I preferred Luzon to Peeters. At least Luzon was funny.

In fact, if we're ranking Network chuff:

    1.Riga first time (Dapper saviour)
2.Luzon (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Personality Disorder)
3.Riga second time (That MK Dons game..)
4.Peeters (He's bald, he's shit, plays kids when no-one's fit)
    10.Fraeye (Rage)
Dammit, got myself a 'like' or 'lol' dilemma here. "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Personality Disorder".

We were awful to watch under Bob Peeters, even when we weren't losing.

Thought the performance at home to Derby was the best I'd seen for 3 or 4 years personally.

Lots of excellent passing football and movement against a very decent team.
What happened to the George Tucudean who looked a really classy player that evening AND the perfect foil for Igor?

Yup, when you see a performance as good as that against Derby it stays with you for a long time. Tucudean's goal - superb. This (third division) might well be his level.
  • Sadly we'll never know as his contract was terminated. Wonder if he got a club?

Scored twice on Saturday for CS Pandurii Târgu Jiu in a 3-1 away win at Gaz Metan Mediaş. Played 5 scored 3 so far this season, and his new club are currently 5th in the Romanian Premier League. (Wasn't there a comment on his departure about "****ing off to the Bulgarian 4th Division"?)

Interesting thing about Vetokele's comments re: Bob Peeters is that Peeters made such a good start to 2014-2015 that the falling away in November/December (although we didn't actually lose that many games) looked - and felt - more dire than it actually was. If the results up until that point had been evenly spread we'd all - well nearly all - have taken it as an ok incremental improvement.

    Rough old game football......

Losing Coquelin was a big blow too

You mean you discount Karel? Is that because that loon was only 'interim'? Anyway, he made Luzon look like Alex Ferguson!
For me Luzon was our worst. Literally no redeeming features, the way he crouched at the side of the pitch. If I was a player I would have laughed at him. His previous roles were through nepotism and RD only I beleive. He had a whole close season to bring his own team. The bloke is a complete clown of a manager. Freaye was clearly inept and a total patsy but had nothing to work with as a team and all the best players injured the entire time he was at the club. Not defending KF as he should never have got the job; but for me Luzon was the nadir. Just go back to his introductory press conference when KM compared him to SAF and Luzon muttered about not liking losing. Total bellend.
  • Suppose Roly doesn't give Robbo any money in January, could an option be to recall Igor? OK no goals in 16 but they are playing him as an inverted winger and he seems to start most matches in a side doing well. I think there is a January recall clause, he must be fit and was tearing up the division above us until his injury. Ceballos not doing as well but must be an option.

Are they paying some/all of his wages ? If not then it's madness to leave him there when he could be back here scoring for fun at this level

  • Not sure how match fit he'll actually be as he's been an unused sub the last few games. From what i can see he's played about 15 minutes of first team football in the past few weeks. Hasn't started a game since 1 October.
  • no goals in 16 games is a bit of a worry.

I'd prefer Watt back if we're going to recall a striker in Jan. He hasnt set the world alight north of the border with an equally unimpressive 1 goal in 13 goals but did well when out on loan at Blackburn and Cardiff and would be more likely to come back and make an impact.

Havent got a clue if we have the option to recall him though.

    Neither, thanks

Why would you recall, someone who didn't Want to be here?.

Clem, any idea why? It's not as if he shafted us, more the opposite. Why are decent players like him, Tex, Ba, George, Dmitrov and others being marginalised? If it is regime politics fine but why not just say, rather than shroud it in mystery? Was a young player's mum involved?

Thanks Clem but still makes no sense. Doubt Zulte are covering a fraction of his wages if he's not a main striker, so the alternative to a recall is a transfer fee and more in wages for a replacement than his loan club are paying. Ditto Watt and Sarr. Tex and Ba, if they want rid, put them in the shop window. It's not as if we'd have to drop a superior player to accomodate them. The lunatics truly are in charge of the asylum.
  • I have an ongoing 'penny wise, pound foolish' view of the regime. They are no doubt saving some money with these players out on loan, but another season in league 1 will be much more expensive. Entirely down to Rolands' incompetence, but it'll be another cash injection for the regime apologists to trott out.
On the Igor side, I just assumed he wouldn't want to play again for a club who mismanaged his injury so badly.

  • Wouldn't be surprised if some of them have big bonuses per appearance and/or fees owed to their previous clubs after a certain number of games.

Are you really suggesting they play Sarr @harveys gardener...? Bauer and Pearce are clearly better players.

Sarr would be even worse in league 1

I wouldn't want Watt or Sarr back. Would have Magennis over Watt in this division any day as Magennis will work his socks off for the team. Also have Bauer and Pearce over Sarr any day in any division.

Agreed, the players we miss (like JBG and Cousins) are the ones who went on permanent deals for fees, not the ones we couldn't get shot of...

Indeed, one worry is that we'll be stuck with the likes of Sarr again next season
  • If Teixeira does not play under Robinson he'll have to be classed as another one being told what to do by the Belgians.

No reason why Teixeira cannot play this Saturday.

Not even on the bench last Saturday though, was he?

What about the situation where more payments are due if Tex plays ? I think a lot of clubs would baulk at this scenario if the intention was to move the player on as soon as possible. Tex is a good player but if he is not going to feature going forward I can see why there might be a financial reason why he won't play unless we are in an emergency situation.

This still doesn't detract from the madness of his contract being the problem in the first place but we are where we are with it.

There is a reason - Bauer and Pearce. Do they deserve to be dropped?
  • Has it ever actually been confirmed that we owe money if Tex plays a league game?

And if we do, why we bother naming him as a sub most weeks?

If the clowns have any designs on keeping him then give him a run out in a cup game.

It is as clear as day that there is a problem with playing him, seemingly all to do with money.
