Louis Mendez @LouisMend 3m3 minutes ago London, England Am hearing that the current Bromley FC PA announcer Matt Hall is likely to replace Dave Lockwood as #cafc's PA announcer.
He covered the friendlies last season whilst Dave was on holiday. Did a good job then and does sterling work at Hayes Lane #cafc

I heard 26 announcers were interviewed this morning.
Some will say he's just another disgruntled employee....
Meanwhile back on Planet Earth, sorry to see you leave Dave, you should be proud to know you did a fine job in, frankly, impossible circumstances. Enjoy the protests!

...and then they gave the job to Guy Luzon - saving money on a PA system was the official reason
Really sorry you have goneWho is going to tell us to Keep the Faith!! Respect your decision but slightly disappointed you have gone now without waiting to see what happens this season. You are right it was toxic last season for many reasons. I don't like the regime but the protests went to far. I am hoping that things calm down if we get the results on the pitch
It must have been so tempting for @BDL to broadcast his thoughts at the first game of the season. I will be honest, that's what I would have done: to offer a spiteful, shocking announcement, aimed to cause as much inconvenience and embarrassment as possible.
But Dave's much classier than that. To coin a phrase, nothing so becomes a man as modest stillness and humility. We all know he must be furious and upset. But he's walked away without a set-piece. Brilliant and, in its own way, inspiring.
The line above, in italics, is, of course, from Shakespeare. The battle cry from Henry V. Which is apt, because Dave's measured, statement here can't be put down as merely the outburst "disgruntled former employee". It's clearly a call-to-arms.
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; or close the wall up with our English dead. In peace there's nothing so becomes a man as modest stillness and humility: But when the blast of war blows in our ears, then imitate the action of the tiger; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage; Then lend the eye a terrible aspect; let pry through the portage of the head Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it as fearfully as doth a galled rock O'erhang and jutty his confounded base, swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean. Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide, hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit To his full height. On, on, you noblest English. Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof! Fathers that, like so many Alexanders, have in these parts from morn till even fought And sheathed their swords for lack of argument: dishonour not your mothers; now attest That those whom you call'd fathers did beget you. Be copy now to men of grosser blood, And teach them how to war. And you, good yeoman, whose limbs were made in England, show us here The mettle of your pasture; let us swear that you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not; For there is none of you so mean and base, that hath not noble lustre in your eyes. I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips, straining upon the start. The game's afoot: Follow your spirit, and upon this charge cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

Now, you know what you've gotta do......
Fight the regime scum, and SMACK THEIR BUM
Wonderful sign off.
Great statement and yet another example of how classy many Charlton fans and employees are.
Very tactical resignation @BDL.

Good luck @BDL. I think we're all going to need it with this lot in charge.
All the best for the future.
The protests go on, a tiger doesn't change it's stripes - it may try fool and deceive you with it's actions but it's still a tiger. The fight goes on.
