On paper a new manager probably thinks Johnson is just the sort of experienced head needed to shore up a game and ensure three points. But you soon realise that Johnson is an utter, utter Johnson.
It wouldn't surprise me if the Rojo thought process when he jumped into that tackle was "boo me all you like, I'll have the last laugh" one thing you can be 100% certain of is had a penalty been given he would not have cared one iota.
With a few minutes to go, defending a 1-0 lead, you'd think a paceless, no nonsense, old fashioned, experienced center half would be a good substitution to make to go 5 at the back (or 4-1-4-1) and win headers/see out the game. I was shocked when Terry said he dived in in the area and nearly gave away a pen. Regardless of what he's like as a person, that's something you'd expect from 18 year old Konsa, not him.
I'm probably naive in hoping we can move him and his wages on in Jan. we have plenty of cover at center back assuming Lennon is close to being back fit. Besides, we're going to desperately need cover at RB given Foley's contract ends in Jan., Solly is injured, and Konsa might be sold. I'm sure the regime is all over it though.

For that to happen someone's got to want him and agree to pay him the same as he is on now. That's simply not going to happen. Last time all he could attract was a gig in India, and he's certain not become a better player or person since returning. All we can wait for is his contract to run out in the summer.
It looked like a penalty to me, and I tend to agree that Roger Johnson doesn't give a chite anyway. On the up side for Roger, he clearly has the best agent in football, and when the best agent meets the worst CEO...........
about time the CL yellers stopped yelling at Johnson about yelling .. there are more serious things to get worked up about .. I was at Bury and IF Johnson told some 'fans' to 'go fuck themselves' or whatever, they seem to be able to give and not take it .. AND yes, I have read the previous discussion about how 'unprofessional' it is to swear at your 'customers or fans' .. all I know is that if someone curses at me, I tend to curse back, unprofessional or not .. AND boys and girls, Jolly Roger aint too shabby a defender .. have a happy 2017 y'all

Never been one for the 'bring on a centre half to see the game out' strategy. Whether that be Roger Johnson or Raphael Varane.
In my book it invites trouble. It says to the other team 'look, you have the ball and try to score. We'll sit back and let you try'.
Best form of defence is to keep the ball. Keep players on who can get the ball and keep hold of it.
Didn't Fellaini give away a penalty when brought on to "see the game out", it's really hard for a player to get up to match speed in such situations.
The one time you'd bring on an extra CB would be if the opponents had gone route one, and had a lot of aerial threat (e.g. a Tony Pulis type team). I can't see MKD being that sort of team.
Isn't the issue about what Johnson chose to actually say? It is reported that he said 'if you don't f*cking like it, don't f*cking come'. If he said 'f*ck off you abusive c*nt' it might have been better. Anyway he apologised to Russell Slade so that's OK then.
I think him saying and, let's be honest, getting away with what he did against Bury isn't too big a deal - it's a reflection of him as a person and the lack of professionalism in the way the club is run from top to bottom. It's more the lack of professionalism shown by his absolute lack of effort that I can't stomach. Let's be honest he got an 18 month contract after unimpressing in the Indian (yes, Indian) league because we had completely messed up our recruitment strategy in that position last year. He's got six months left, no chance of an extension and he will leave for free, better to offer him half of that upfront now and let him find another club, we have strength in depth in his position and he contributes absolutely nothing.

Were that the only problem with Roger Johnson we would all be happy...

Say what you like about his ability, but he isn't as bad as we like to think. He's just a massive cunt and he wants to damage us whenever he's in the team.

He's dreadful . He had a decent game against Brentford in Feb 2015; since then a total liability

you weren't at Bury this season then, or if you were you were not paying attention .. his only league start this season (I believe) .. presumably dropped after this game by Slade because he was 'rude' to the sensitive fans, gawd luv em .. what a fiasco ... and he was the difference between a 2-0 and 4 or 5-0 hiding .. our callow defence apart from Johnson was overrun by a big aggressive attack ,, and let's face it, Bury aint pulled up too many trees since then

I was at Bury. I didn't abuse any player in any way at any time.
I disagree that Johnson was the difference between a routine defeat or a heavy defeat. he was as poor as the whole team were in my opinion.

Agreed, on the pitch he's a perfectly acceptable defender at L1 level, especially if given a run of games. If we didn't have Pearce or Tex I'd be happy to see him alongside Bauer. Experience does matter in defence, Lennon, Konsa and even Bauer are all young players who need an experienced player alongside them.
If Slade had handled things better, by making Johnson apologise (and indeed grovel a bit) in public, the incident would have been largely forgotten by now
Other than the Johnson / Bury comments that he made I didnt have anything else really against him as during his first spell I thought he was a brilliant short term option for us... I didnt like the comments he made during that game as its a taboo that just shouldnt be said by players.
My issue on a playing level was how he defended the third MK Dons goal in the FA Cup and made very little effort to track back despite having been on the pitch for only 17mins at the time of the goal whilst the goalscorer had played 97mins so was surely more tired?

good and well considered post .. but why should Johnson apologise ? .. I say again, to me it looked as if he was retorting to fans who were abusing him, as far as I am concerned it's giving back what he received .. and after all it was only a minority who were sworn at .. just seems to me we have far too many thin skinned fans, too many anxious to make big mountains from little tiny inclines ... Slade's dropping of Johnson indicates what a spineless manager he is/was, though he did sign a few decent players

Someone left out in the cold, and completely out of favour, is unlikely to bust a gut for the team when brought on near the end of an unglamorous Cup match ...

It's the general rule, that players don't respond, though I agree that the fans giving him abuse need to accept that they are hardly an innocent party...
The problem with what happened afterwards, is that RS said that RJ had apologised to HIM, when if an apology needed to be made it should have been to the fans, not the manager
In terms of technical skill and experience, yes he is ok for this level.
So why then, when we let him go, did no one anywhere in England pick him up? Why would you go to India, other than for the reason that otherwise you will be unemployed.?
The answer is obviously that his attitude stinks. That is why he got the abuse he did from 700 traveling fans on Boxing Day. We didn't want him on the pitch, because his stinking attitude is a liability to the team. As he demonstrated in the 5th minute of his 7 minutes where he made a terribly judged tackle which should have been a penalty, thus undoing the hard work of his team mates.

Bloke is a bell of the highest order.
Despise him.
