    Macmillan is a more natural number 10 than anybody in the first team squad

    Suicidal defending by Safa and we get a real let off.

    Maybe, but I think he’s in a similar mould to what we already have, in that his main strengths are his energy and ability to pop up with a goal.

    I wouldn’t describe him as a creative or playmaking 10, at first team level he’d get less time on the ball, be up against more physical players and more organised defences.

    I agree he is not ready. Hard in fact seeing any of these young players getting into the first team. Josh Laq and Enslin both 21 and have not made it. In league one they might have had more opportunities.

    Kai Enslin rounds Jakub Przewozny in the Millwall goal and opens the scoring with a calm finish 💪

    Finished 1-0
    Good to see Enslin back playing.
    And Hebert.
    Well done to the new goalkeeper.

    FT 1-0
    Good performance
  • Much better performance in the 2nd half - Sols must have thrown a few cups at half time.

    Loved the energy & skill demonstrated by Kai & Josh when they came on . Both clearly very keen to get back into the squad & rightly so.

    Millwall deserved nothing today - more muscle than expertise IMO.

    Long may it continue  :)

    I hope that’s correct re a senior “friendly” coming up soon as otherwise it’s a bit concerning to see no sign of the returning injured first teamers.

    Well done the kids for the win.

    Michael Mylona featured in Cyprus U19’s fixture vs Moldova yesterday. Scored an absolute beauty from outside of the box which he’s just posted to his Instagram story. For those wanting to view, his profile is @michaelmylona_

    I’ll try and find an external link for those not on Instagram.

    Just seen it , that's some strike. Hopefully someone we can keep hold of.

    Yep I hope so. Seems like some player. Only just turned 18 but had a very good pre season with the U21s. We have some good players coming through. Just need to keep them and nurture them.

    Ayden Minto St.Aimee was an unused sub for England U17s last night.

    Otto Tiitinen started for Finland U19s vs Sweden yesterday too.

    Good to see, looking forward to seeing how he progresses. It’s interesting he’s the winger who’s been with the u21s as Richman played more regularly for the u18s last season and has continued scoring goals this season.

    Mylona isn’t big, quick and powerful as Richman, but moments like that show there’s something there. I mentioned the other day he’s genuinely two footed which is a big strength to have as an attacking player.
  • Fuck me we have just beaten Millwall.

    Stone Island, Danny Baker, Keith Stevens, Terry Hurlock, Jamie Moralee, Daniel Day Lewis, Gary Oldman, Gregg Wallace, Neil from the Inbetweeners.

    Your boys took a relatively moderate beating, ahead of a 95th minute spawny, off the right arse cheek of Tyler Bindon, own goal winner in a few months time.

    It was good to see Enslin kicking a ball with his right foot during the half time break.

    A big improvement to his game.

    It's on youtube, although the autotranslated commentary is a bit weird. I'm not sure whether the chance just before was touched onto the bar by the keeper or hit it directly.

    the attached scouting reports (found by AI) on the new goalkeeper Lyndon Tas may be of interest:

    While detailed public analytic dossiers are rare for youth academy players, youth coaches and scouts from his time at [Heart of Midlothian](https://www.heartsfc.co.uk/pages/lyndon-tas) highlight key aspects of Lyndon Tas's style and potential:
    ## Technical Profile & Strengths

    *
    * Physical Frame & Presence: Standing at 6ft 3in, Tas has the ideal natural height and physical frame sought after by modern scouts. His build gives him an immediate advantage in commanding his penalty area and handling aerial crosses. [1]
    * Exceptional Shot-Stopping: He is widely recognized for his raw reflexes and high-caliber shot-stopping ability. During his development in the Hearts academy setup, youth goalkeeping staff noted he was capable of producing "world-class saves". [1]
    * Elite Handling Qualities: Academy assessments frequently praise his basic handling mechanics and ability to cleanly hold onto powerful shots rather than spilling dangerous rebounds into the box. [1]
    * Mental Resilience: Scouts and coaches have highly commended his composure and dedication under pressure. This was famously shown during his Stranraer loan spell when he put aside difficult personal circumstances to step up and make an instant impact. [2]
    *

    ## Areas for Development

    *
    * Tactical Versatility: Hearts youth goalkeeping coaches noted that Tas has a very distinct profile compared to other young keepers in the system. Part of his ongoing development plan involves refining his positioning, sweeping, and footwork to match his strong physical traits. [1]
    * Consistency over "Robot" Mechanics: Academy staff highlighted that he is not a rigid, robotic keeper; his instinctual style is exciting, but polishing his decision-making during transition phases remains a key focus as he transitions to English football. [1]
    *

    Would you like to track his progress with the Charlton Athletic U21s, or look into how he compares to other keepers in the Charlton setup?

    I thought Millwall were pretty poor and just too defensive and had hardly anything up top.

    Reid was ok but Tagoe did more for me today out wide.  Josh Laq looked pretty solid
    keeper had decent hands but kicking needs some work - not a concern at all as can be coached.  Handling was good, one minor flap but promising start.

    Enslin wanted to make stuff happen and Hebert looked very promising indeed.

    pretty solid but unspectacular game but always good to beat Millwall

    None of the first team squad players due to be returning from injury featured. I know there’s another U21 game early next week. Is there another “behind closed doors” match planned? Or will the wait go on?

    Solly mentioned a possible senior game later this week
