Nice one. He has been moved from left to right which isn't easy, so shown flexibility.
Big man with the final goal.0 -
Two misses from Kanu, he's rubbish 😄0

I hope this Kanu lad is on a proper contract, and it’s got some length to it - 39 goals in a season will have the vultures circling….0

As I said earlier, I was really impressed with his link up play. He's not just a poacher although all three goals were in or near the six yard box and first time finishes. That's good play and even better movement.
And he's under contract.
The Paint Pot Trophy games might actually be worth watching next season if they play this side.
PS. I'm impressed by Bakrin too. Maybe not ready now but a physical presence and can play it on the ground too.

Does anyone know how to get a message to the commentator? I just want to reminder her that Charlton has a t in it3

Fuck me - some excellent goals there - the Anderson strike - wow0

Bravo - what marvellous entertainment from our young lads ! They absolutely tortured Cardiff in the second half with their passing and movement (a concept which, all too often, appears alien to the first team). Anderson completely controlled the game in midfield, ably supported by Williams and Agyemang, whilst Kanu's movement and football brain are first class. I also really like the look of the very young goalie. Good performances all over the pitch and Leaburn's goal at the end was the cherry on the top.
An excellent performance from a very young side, especially when the Under 23 squad is without a raft of players who are either injured or out on loan - e.g. Tyreece Campbell, Elerewe, Henry, Vennings, Clayden, Ghandour, Gavin, Aouachria and Ness.5 -

Can add AMB, Dempsey and even Burstow to that list.
Oguntayo too who, I assume is injured and the player @SELR_addicks told us would dominate this league, Jacob Roddy0 -
Anthony Hayes is giving me Nathan Jones vibes. It's a different intensity to first team football, but he shows how you set up with the formation, the movement and pressing you need. And to get it from what must be one of the youngest sides in the U23s. Maybe that young, progressive manager we crave is already with us...9

Can I pessimistically assume that Karoy Anderson will not sign a pro contract with us as he was rumored to being courted by some prem clubs?0

He spent a long time at Brentford and now has worked his way up to U23 coach here and also helped out JJ and JE when they first took over.
Don't want to sidetrack this into yet another should we sack Jacko or not thread but there would be a risk, as there is with any appointment, in appointing Hayes when he is untried as a "manager" as opposed to a "coach."
The skill set is different and the pressures much greater. Other than a few fans, most realise that the U23s is a development squad so results are not paramount. We all see the intense pressure and lack of time given to first team managers and not just at the Valley.
A "coach" however might actually be attractive to TS, an owner who, IMHO, dabbles too much in recruitment and the playing side and may feel that he can continue to do so with a more "continental model".
But the Nathan Jones analogy is, I think, a very good one. Given time and backing Hayes could do a good job for us.6 -
Well that was very enjoyable!0

I drove down from a weekend in North Norfolk and got to The Valley just in time for the game.
Some cracking goals. Best game from Charlie Barker in a long time. Kanu was very impressive.3
