Well they played so much better in the 2nd half. Some real class at times from us. So 2-2 a fair result. Outstanding player for us I would say was Enslin. Rylah had a good game as well. Dixon was better in the second half. Mullah a hard working player, he will not score many better goals than that one tonight

Dixon didn't come on until the second half. Fullah not Mullah.
Always silly and a bit insulting that people who rarely watch the U21s immediately undermine the success of the U21s by making crass comparisons with the first team.
It's a different level of football played against other development sides.
"Development" being the key word.
It is much more open and results very variable. There are far too many goals conceded.
It's not that those players have their ability coached out of them when they reach the first team but that they come up against bigger, faster, better, more experienced players.
And when they do they often get slagged off or dismissed as rubbish eg Anderson, TC and Kanu "never going to be good enough". Casey was a "carthorse" not worthy of his V number, Rylah useless, Asiimwe needs to go out on loan, etc etc
BTW the first team beat Birmingham, the U21s only drew 🤔

On the development point, they’re all at different stages too. I’ve checked their ages, they range from Fullah who’s 17 and turns 18 in April, while Toure is 20 and is 21 in February. Reuben Reid was an unused and is a 1st year u18, so will be 16/17.
Some also get to play regularly in their favoured position, while the more versatile players are moved all over the pitch. Enslin being the best example of that, I’ve seen him play LWB, CB and CM this season, while in the Birmingham game alone he spent time on the right and left wing, up front before ending the game at LWB.
On the game itself I thought Laqeretabua showed why he’s starting to make appearances for the first team. He defended well, showed pace and was very comfortable on the ball, carrying it out of defence and picking out some good passes. One to look out for, but it’s a big jump to the first team, especially for a young CB with the step up in physicality and an expectation to be consistent playing in that position.
I enjoy having my homework marked by Henry, we do have some very good players, who could get us on the edge of our seats!
Watched Paul Walsh along with Konsa and Gomez and they had the pedigree. Walsh was a dream to watch, hence I have no issues about giving the U21's some minutes, especially if their good enough!
There is a good chance the players mentioned in the last few days, could all be potentially be in the match day squad!
Once we have enough points and safe from relegation would be the ideal time?

Watching kids coming through is, for me, one of the biggest reasons for attending the Valley, totally agree with Stan, nothing to play for or worry about then play them, it makes my Valley gold membership seem worth it.
Goals from the other night well worth watching. Enslin from his own half and a great strike from Fullah on his “weaker” left foot.
Enslin’s a bit more well known after his first team debut but Fullah is an exciting player and one to look out for over the next few years (still only 17 as I mentioned a few posts up).

So thst was Mwaba then . He really plays like Dixon or Dixon like him which ever.
The first team should be embarrassed by what they are serving up each week!!!

Enslin not being in the 18 is dumbfounding.
Are you inferring Touré and Enslin are not talented?
Please explain your oft used DFTT quote.
You seem to single me out for criticism. Why is that?

They will likely feature in some way tomorrow.
