Has anyone on here had a response yet? I have just received an email headed 'Fancy Meeting Russell Slade?' with a reprint of the original news story and a tiny 'You're invited'! at the top of the page. Can anyone clarify- thanks!

    Looks like another horlicks- original news story stated application deadline as Monday 12th, http://www.cafc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/charlton-athletic-meet-the-manager-evening-3293463.aspx
    email mailout states midnight Tuesday 13 - with notification by noon on Wednesday for 7pm Thursday event!

    There's probably only a handful of applicants & even less will turn up when they realise they'll be missing Feyenoord v Man U followed by Southampton v Sparta Prague.

    I personally am glad that lots turned up. He deserves the support, if I bothered to read any of the club's output anymore I would have gone myself.

    Poor turn out. Similar events in recent past eg VIP events have had 300 + there.

    Bromley Addicks even got more for some meetings.

    That's tough on Slade as not a target for protests imho.

    The marketing was very low key though and the general feeling about the club will have impacted.

    Personally it's the sort of event I would have tried to attend in the past but wasn't enthused enough about to apply.

    Will wait to hear what was said by those that were.

    On twitter, there were some pictures of smiley happy people talking selfies.

    More of the club trying to pretend everything is rosy in the garden whilst not actually engaging with the critical elements of the supporter base.
