Odd timing. Why not make the decision in May, and have the new guy in before pre season. Especially as the transfer business has started already, e.g. Inniss.

Perhaps Fergie and Inniss fell out during training over who had served the longest stretch and it became untenable.

odd appointment in the first place .. Vince, the FGR owner has gone all green, luvvie and political, I suspect he's lost a bit of interest in his football club .. after a great promotion year, FGR went straight back down with seemingly no investment from Vince to avert the slide .. perhaps he's now got other priorities on where to spend his company's consumer levy bolstered income
Why why why do clubs keep giving stupid long contracts to managers? If he doesn't get them promoted at the first attempt he probably won't be there next summer.

Protects them against him doing well and leaving I guess, or at least means that they'll get more compensation.
But I agree it does mean a load of managers getting too much compensation for doing a bad job and getting fired!

Forest Green Rovers have named Southampton's B team boss David Horseman as their new head coach.
He takes over from Hannah Dingley, the first woman to manage a professional men's team in England, who has been in interim charge since 5 July.
Now, that did not last long.
