Cheltenham manager Wade Elliott has left the club after a winless start to the season that has seen the team also fail to score.
The Robins are bottom of League One, with one point, having lost seven of their eight games.
Their 3-0 defeat by Peterborough saw them equal the English Football League record set by Halifax in 1990-91 of eight games without scoring a goal.
Football is quite mad and unfair these days.

He has to sell Cheltenhams best player -a proven goalscorer - and the club then can't understand why the team can't score and is struggling.

    Bonkers really.

  • "We need a new manager.  Any ideas?"
"Same as always, call whoever the last bloke in charge of Bayern?"
    "Ah, of course!"

Good to see they're putting a lot of faith in him for the future by giving him a............10 month contract.

Does seem a bit short! Maybe a 36 year old manager wants a way back into club management?

I don’t think it’s a bad thing tbh. Saves weighing him out on a 4 year contract if they sack him off early doors.

Gives him until the Euros I guess, and probably suits them both.

If he does well he might leave for a better paid club role.

If he does badly they can get rid cheaply.
  • Next summer he can take over from whoever takes over from Poch at Chelsea.

Former Scotland and Everton striker Duncan Ferguson is the new manager at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Not hugely surprising, being third in a two horse race is never going to be acceptable. That being said I don’t think he was in charge of transfers and some of the signings made in the summer really haven’t looked too good so far.

Remember Charlton fans wetting themselves over him ..

Beale will be back in the Championship before Christmas. Surprised he lasted this long with a bad start to the season.

his time at rangers was comparable to adkins, garner and holders stints here.

football management is mainly an instant results business. Haven't some fans set Appleton a points target and if he doesn't succeed, they are saying he should go?

Could actually see that being more likely , if Gerrard actually stays anywhere long enough.
  • Apparently Kevin Muscat is the early favourite for the Rangers job.

I hadn't realised Damian Matthew was one of Beale's coaches. He's had a decent career in the game.
  • Neil Banfield was also part of the Rangers team he too used to coach at Charlton

Was a great coach/assistant manager on Football Manager back in about 2011.

Plus I'm very sad and found it funny that as my assistant we'd be Neil-Neil.

Forgot about him. Head of our academy in the 90s when we brought through some very good players.

He also got us kicked out of the FA Youth Cup one year for playing an unregistered player

I remember when he was there as a player. Alex McLeish never once selected him for an Old Firm derby as he couldn't rely on him not to get sent off.
