Managerial sackings, comings and goings

  • West Brom are bang in trouble, could drop into the bottom 3 if Blackburn beat Wednesday on Tuesday.

Like Leicester the fans have turned on the players and board, they have injuries, and can't keep clean sheets (only 2 since 2 October and one of those was against Wednesday).

Also have probably the hardest games between now and the end of the season. 11 of their last 16 are against the top 14, only 5 against the bottom 10.

I know this one!  It was the name of the horse.

Damn - He was doing such a fine job
  • I wonder how long after 7pm Spurs will sack Frank.  It would be terribly unlucky timing by the board, just after the window closed and any new manager could not spend their money...

Blackburn sacking Ismael feels unfair. He had the vibe of definitely taking them down. All we can do now is hope that Venky's continue to Venk and hire some random cheap replacement because they've already accepted L1 as an eventuality and want to save on costs. I think that would be best

Can't see the Venkys being that bothered to appoint anyone of any stature. Will be a caretaker til the end of the season or someone completely random.

Both are too sensible for the Venkys and would probably want too much £££.
  • Michael Appleton Sometimes you just have to put that poker face on Portsmouth The Guardian

Always good to give the new man time to get in and assess the squad before the transfer window closes...........in 5 hours time.

They've done it before. In fact, Appleton's first match in charge of Blackburn was a 2-1 loss against Charlton. I don't see why they couldn't give him another 67 days
  • Mowbray and Bilic linked to the Blackburn job.

Mowbray would be a good appointment for them I think so hopefully it’s not him.

How on earth is Parker still in a job?
    Absolute abject football.

More like clean shorts……..no effort from any Burnley player. Feel for their supporters.

Dunno if I'd want it if I was Mowbray - why ruin a good legacy up there and risk going down?

He's had health issues sadly too, just enjoy retirement!
  • Mowbray wasn't great when he managed West brom last season. Although looking at them this season that may have also been down to the squad and not just him.

Pretty sure I heard somewhere that Mowbray had ruled himself out

I'd not be surprised, he's had big health issues recently unfortunately.

Not hard to see why we didn’t send Apter there when they were interested

Burnley fans have turned on Parker
Frank at Spurs isn't doing himself any favours trying to defend that muppet Romero
Dyche  and Forest in the shit

I think there may be movement imminent on one or two this week
