Hartlepool United has today made the decision to terminate the contracts of Craig Hignett and Assistant Manager Ged McNamee.
A more detailed statement will follow this afternoon but suffice to say this incredibly difficult decision has been made with a heavy heart, as both men have worked tirelessly for the Club in the last eighteen months.

Jeff Stelling is taking over and to keep the Sky Sports 'vertically challenged' quota up, ex speaker (IF the lil fecker does actually quit his day job) John Bercow will be taking Jeff's Saturday job
he'll steady the proverbial ship there .. not the most talented squad but surely good enough to get out of L1 even after the soul destroying Wembley defeats of last season .. as ever, we will see
Really pleased for Phil as he did a decent enough job at our place, Bradford and Bolton under difficult circumstances. He deserves a good job and will steady the ship gradually. Sunderland fans will grow to love the v-neck jumpers! Good luck to him.

Weird that Sunderland are below Wycombe in the table at the moment, but it's a massive leap in the size of the club, and the pressure of the job.
Former Bolton boss Phil Parkinson will hold talks with Sunderland this weekend over their managerial vacancy. (Sun)
This is his Wiki page. Some Reading fan having a laugh.
A number of vacancies out there, surprised nobody has been appointed yet. Millwall, Barnsley and Southend all still looking.

Good luck to him.
