Lool no way could Rudd save that.

Put it this way, Rudd had a lot more of a chance to do something about that than Fox did.

Bring on the 2 youngsters on. We desperately need some pace. This is fucking awful.
  • Defence is doing alright. Midfield and attack rubbish.

Not sure I've noticed Novak or Ajose much in this game so far.

Ajose has been our main threat in tbe final third, put in a wicked cross early on.

I'm a keeper, and trust me - it's much better to fling yourself in its direction than to stand there gawping. I reckon he might have pulled it off if he'd reacted immediately and gone full-length.

Attacking play non-existent as expected. Just the sort of goal we usually concede on Sky as well.

Got to gamble on Hanlan out wide or something. No one out there that can turn and run at the opposition.

The midfield four are decent enough individually but never as a four together. Three all playing is bad enough.

For those that say that Rudd couldn't adjust for that, I think he could, I just think he thought it was going wide.. I know the concept of going the wrong way, but he was completely rooted to the spot when he could have adjusted. That goal went in in slow motion.

Absolutely no chance. He'd already reacted to his left and stopping your momentum, then changing it in the opposite direction takes time and is notorious for making you look slow. He was helpless. You can't blame him for that. Actually you can't blame anyone for that. Fox did the right thing, Rudd reacted appropriately. Bad luck, that's all.

He should have definitely dived at it
Leuth, we should spend more time on match threads together and less time on anything to do with politics, because I think we have found the first thing we have ever agreed upon. ;-)
    You are both wrong

On the plus side, the last time we got wanged on telly by Swindon we had a change of manager, so there's that..
  • It hit the post on the way in... that was in a position of the goal where Rudd needed to be dead centre of the goal to at least to save it... Instead he had naturally started to cover his right post
  • Absolutely pathetic. You could accuse a few of them of not even trying.

We've seen some total shit under Slade this season, but that is up there as possibly the most inept 45 mins of the season.

If he doesn't change that he wants shooting.

Get Hanlan on and play him wide.

Utterly sick of the dross this blokes' team is serving up.

Who is not trying? Some maybe hopeless but I can'

    .... I was a keeper too... <3

Hence my comment and presumably our agreement.

You can see that Rudd goes the wrong way (correctly based on the strike) but there is a period where he clearly is no longer going the wrong way and is standing still, with enough time to adjust and react.

I suggest people watch it back. He was rooted to the spot once he had recovered from going the wrong way.

Not to say he isn't a great keeper, but he could have at least attempted something more there.

That said, it's possible that his knee 'locked' as he tried to change direction (this has also happened to me) and yeah if that happens it really can make you look a lemon. He should have at least fallen over or something, made it look dramatic
  • To think I should be at this, lucky escape it seems.

    We have ZERO attacking intent.
  • So, if Luzon was Meire's "our" Alex Ferguson, is Slade "our" Pep Guardiola?

Yet another tactical masterclass by a manager who could only be outdone by the combined talents of the mop and the bucket in the sluice room...

Got to laugh at Meire (paying?) using sky sports for her communication will make things right bullshit. 34 meetings and her and the whole club are still shit!

I'd like to add that Rudd is a quality keeper and an underrated contender for POTY so far

I know there's a thread for this but HOW DOES THAT MAN KEEP GETTING WORK!?!?!?! As a manager or as a pundit??? Did some lovely stuff with Blackpool playing diagonal balls to Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Luke Varnay but been absolutely useless since.
  • SKY need to stop spunking over Tim Sherwood

He's not a good Manager, he just couldnt fail with a good Spurs team and showed when he ruined Aston Villa.

At one point we got a FK on the halfway line... no idea what it was for because they were showing Sherwood watching the bloody match that I want to see myself!!

No way Rudd could have done anything - his balance was wrong because he couldn't plan for a fluke like that. Slade has to grow a pair now and actually find a way to attack them. I have a feeling that if we can pressure them a bit they might crumble. I shouldn't have to be worrying whether the manager will react in the right way but with this clown I do. Yes, we are missing key offensive players but as has been said, it is better to try and fail than not to try at all! If we are going to get something from the game you stupid git Slade, you have to grow a pair now!

Only positive is I'm quietly confident our servers won't crash under the weight of traffic this afternoon as every five minutes another 20 Charlton fans fall asleep
