How kind of Lee Bowyer to put his name forward as our prospective new manager. I can't imagine that he would offer some blow as a half time fillip and surely he can double as Katrian's education officer to prevent our young scallywags from getting into trouble with the law. I wonder what Dean Chandler and Jamie Stuart are up to these days? Perhaps they could be persuaded to serve as part of Lee's back up team.0

The search for a new Charlton Athletic manager is well and truly underway following Russell Slade’s dismissal just over a week ago. And while Kevin Nugent is in charge temporarily, it looks as though either Karl Robinson or Gary Caldwell will get the job on a permanent basis.
Ladbrokes Latest Betting:
Karl Robinson – 1/5
Gary Caldwell – 7/2
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink – 12/1
Johnnie Jackson – 16/1
Kevin Nugent – 16/10 -
So More lies from the club then?
Today's statement reads as if interviews etc are about to commence , when in truth they're done!3 -
I expect it's just James Corden having a laugh.20

It doesn't it says "The club is conducting interviews with shortlisted candidates after receiving numerous applications..." which seems to show they've already interviewed some applicants.sammy391 said:So More lies from the club then?

Roland actually left Belgium to interview him wow!Bedsaddick said:
Obviously didn't make it as far as the UK, but Robinson probably fancied doing some Christmas shopping in Paris anyway1 -
Don't really like or rate him but beggars can't be choosers I suppose.5

Very much meh on Robinson as he always comes across as incredible chippy. But his track record is FAR better than Slade's. I can only hope he's more coach than manager (which I believe he is)--i.e. working on the training ground with the team rather than overseeing things.
On the face of it, I think sacking Slade was a very good decision given his replacement.0 -
Underwhelmed.2

He's got a promotion under his belt. So already an improvement.SDAddick said:Very much meh on Robinson as he always comes across as incredible chippy. But his track record is FAR better than Slade's. He did have MK playing some lovely stuff not so long ago. I don't really know why it all changed for him/them. Think he has potential but as we all know, it doesn't really matter who's in charge.1

Don't like him as a person and comes across as an arse. However, he always had MK Dons playing decent football - a win ratio of 42.5% in his 6 years at MK Dons is not too shabby either.

Probably not, RD probably already had reason to be/go there. Remember he texted Talk sport that he was in Paris last week as well.killerandflash said:

Well at least Robinson is used to working in big empty grounds18

Good luck to him, I will give him the benefit of the doubt....unless in his unveiling he does a "Slade" and gushes on about Meire and the owner. If he chooses to do that and start life basically against the fans which Slade did then f*ck him.4

Perhaps he will bring the stability we require.ricky_otto said:

If there is one thing we have learnt from big Russ it is to be patient.0

Is this just a job to cover the Christmas period?6

Pleased with that, best of the options out there, plays good stuff and will get the best out of the half decent squad we've got4

He just bought a new electronics business there, but it was on the rocks and needs turning around, so he probably needs to spend more than 1.5% of his time on it.DRAddick said:

Signed Simon Church, so evidently has an eye for a good player.
