Good luck to him, I will give him the benefit of the doubt....unless in his unveiling he does a "Slade" and gushes on about Meire and the owner. If he chooses to do that and start life basically against the fans which Slade did then f*ck him.
Yeah I felt Slade got a very easy ride for his chippiness in regard to the fans. Having a go at 300-odd who turned up away to Port Vale on a Tuesday night was ridiculous. CharltonLive played back that and his "see how we were patient" comment to Louis on their show last week and it reminded me just how bad, how cringe worthy, it was.
I don't seem to dislike Robinson as much as many others on here, but you have to question anyone who's willing to take this job on.
I imagine we will play better football under Robinson, but that there'll be a greater focus on playing younger players to maximise sale value.
Just a hunch but I reckon Robinson will be more accepting of the board's vision of our role in football as something of a feeder club to the Premier League. It works for his reputation as a manager who brings kids on, and it works for Roland and KM.
Well pleased tbh. Not that long ago he was being hugely praised as a bright English manager and mentioned for a few higher profile jobs. I've always quite liked his interviews and the way MK Dons have played in the past, don't really understand why some people really seem to dislike him? Good luck Karl (you are certainly going to need it!!!)
Very much meh on Robinson as he always comes across as incredible chippy. But his track record is FAR better than Slade's. I can only hope he's more coach than manager (which I believe he is)--i.e. working on the training ground with the team rather than overseeing things.
On the face of it, I think sacking Slade was a very good decision given his replacement.
He's got a promotion under his belt. So already an improvement.
Quite pleased with this. Robinson is probably the best manager that we can attract at the moment. He plays decent football and must have asked for some assurances on the playing budget. Just hope he gets it in writing.
Probably one of the best at this level who is out of work. He does have a touch of the Pardew about him but I'm pretty happy....well, as happy as you can be when it's futile until the owner sells up.

To his credit Slade brought Konsa in to the side and left him there (admittedly when we had a lot of injuries at CB). But apart from brief cameos from Hanlan he didn't show any interest in our youth players. RCC and Aribo, going on what those who regularly watch the youth team say, are ready for that step up (RCC looked decent in cameos last year). I think Slade's inability to look at midfielders with some athleticism and drive is part of the reason he's no longer manager.
For me, if Robinson is willing to nurture and, at the right time, promote youth players then he's a great fit for us. For as stupid as KM's comment about "the future stars of the Premier League" was, selling our quality homegrown young players is a model we've been adhering to for a decade (longer if you count Parker). Shelvey, Jenkinson, Elliot, Gomez, THD, Harriott, and soon Lookman.
Honestly, I don't know how a team is financially feasible below the Prem in modern English football (amongst the drastically inflated wages thanks to the Premier League and rich Champo owners) unless they produce young players and sell them on to wealthier clubs or have an owner willing to continuously pour money in (which can be problematic--Hull, Bolton, Blackburn, etc.). I don't want this to be our long term ambition, and obviously last year's needless relegation has drastically exacerbated this, but in the short to medium term I don't know how else you can expect this football club to be run, unfortunately.
Roland actually left Belgium to interview him wow!
Obviously didn't make it as far as the UK, but Robinson probably fancied doing some Christmas shopping in Paris anyway
Probably not, RD probably already had reason to be/go there. Remember he texted Talk sport that he was in Paris last week as well.
He just bought a new electronics business there, but it was on the rocks and needs turning around, so he probably needs to spend more than 1.5% of his time on it.
perhaps Katrien is going to the electronics firm to help get them out of trouble shes good at turning businesses around
'We interviewed a number of people including Karl Robinson who we nearly appointed but then as Kevin Nugent had a couple of victories and we like a good reactionary decision rather than a thought out strategic decision, and we were already paying him, we decided he was the best man for the job on an interim basis until he goes on a short losing streak when we will fire him.
Not got a problem with Robinson and probably one of the best of the bunch out there. Hopefully he'd have got certain assurances in writing for his sake otherwise it will be the same old same old. Obviously happy to work with COL but maybe he'll just ignore him. Wonder if Nugent will stay on?

Perhaps he will bring the stability we require.
'kinell Elfs, you alright, that's a bit positive for you!
We've always (well most of us) believed that we have the nucleus of a strong side at this level, Rudd, Solly, Bauer, Pearce, Holmes, Lookman, Magennis, Ajose would all get into most sides in this division. Robinson has a good record in this division so if he can add a couple of midfielders to that lot then we'd need an absolute disaster to happen for us to not make the play offs.

Nope, just thinking about the cobblers you post and think you may be right at times!

As a side thinking about either relegation from league 1 or maybe a playoff push, you aren't going to get as much.
Always thought he was a bellend too.
