@MillwallFan, yes our record against you is appalling, but what you're forgetting is all those years we didn't get a chance to beat you because we were in a higher division. There aren't too many seasons where you can say the same, are there?
There's probably quite a few, but can't be bothered to look it up to be honest.

Dont forget the one time we played Millwall as a Premier League side was in a pre-season friendly (Yes I know its just a friendly) but didnt we win about 4-1 that day?
Yes, but not the only time you played us as a top flight club (remember the 3 nil anyone and Les Brileys 30 yard screamer?)
Top flight football didn't start when the premier league started.

What year was that...? - To be honest I was only born in '83 and my Football knowledge only really dates back to around 1994 / 1996 at the earliest

88. We played you four times in the top flight in the late 80's. Win 2 Drew 2.

I think that's it. 9 seasons. Happy to be corrected though.
Because we historically are a bigger better superior club that is why the scum get so excited about beating us
Think of how you feel when we beat orient or West Ham , Brentford or Chelsea
It means much more to beat the bigger better club
And for the scum they get the same feeling beating a superior club like ourselves
For us its a different ball game , our horrendous record against them and hatred of their vermin scum element means we want to beat them partly on humanitarian grounds as well as the local rival stuff which they proclaim to have a limited part of .

Sorry is that 9 seasons where Millwall have been in a higher Division than us? - Wow!!
In the interests of balance and innocent, non-mocking comparison, I also had a look at how many times Charlton played in one or more divisions higher than Millwall:
1935-36 (CAFC - Div 2 v MFC - Div 3 South) 1936-37 (Div 1 v Div 3 South) 1937-38 (Div 1 v Div 3 South) 1938-39 (Div 1 v Div 2) War break, although CAFC started a Div 1 season in 1939, but only played 3 games. On top of that, I saw some little while ago the average FA Cup round for us was the 4th and for Millwall was the 2nd or 3rd. What it didn't show was how many games had been won in the FA Cup by each team.

Never felt like we was playing a bigger and more 'superior' club in all those years you was squatting at West Ham and palace.
And even in the years before you left The Valley you didn't come across as a big or superior club. Never really done anything in the leagues or cups and regularly playing in front of crowds of 5 or so thousand. Hardly big club material.
Obviously when you made the premier league your attendances shot up but I wouldn't say this was core Charlton support. More neutrals from the sticks lured to Charlton by the promise of watching the likes of Ronaldo and Thierry Henry play at The Valley.
Hate to say it but would class West Ham as a big club. Charlton never had that feel about them though. Just my opinion.
I wouldn't say we are a big club either , just that compared to you we are a bigger better superior club
have you seen the video of the millwall kid in the car with his nan , wow
Well can only speak for myself but as a kid growing up supporting Millwall, and when the rivalries of my generation were developing, whenever we played Charlton it didn't feel like we were playing a bigger more superior club. In fact, during your homeless years it actually felt quite the opposite. You came across as a bit of a two bob outfit to be honest and we looked down on Charlton.

Just my opinion mate. Obviously you went on to be one of the best run clubs in the country for a while, but At that time of your history, and in the years preceding that, you were far from being a superior club to Millwall. There's plenty of clubs Millwall fans may feel inferior towards. Charlton aren't one of them. For the reasons I gave above.
