Imperious and brilliantly funny as always.

    I don't like change....
  • I saw Chuck Prophet at the Garage, Islington last night. What a class act from someone who has passed me by over the years. How he got the audience to sing, “Elon Musk is a w****r” so easily and so loudly was impressive.

  • Caught Ditz in Barcelona two weeks ago. Interestin gig and well worth a look if you have time and they come up on the radar. Baboon Show later this month and Hugh Cornwell in may, but my biggie this year is Rebellion in Blackpool in august.
  • Has anyone used Viagogo to buy concert tickets and were they good/bad? My daughter wants to see Sabrina Carpenter this weekend and they have a lot available but am a bit reluctant to use them.

Go with twickets if you can. You'll likely be protected with viagogo but you will be paying way over the odds on already extortionate pricing.

    Cheers
  • One tip on twickets is to not rely on the app alerts. They seem to trigger 5-10 minutes after tickets are posted and I have never been able to get any (hard to get) tickets using the alert.   I use Chrome browser extension (Distill web monitor, google it) to set up an alert on the event page for new tickets.   I set it to poll every 10s and has a better success rate at telling me tickets are available on twickets than the alert from twickets own platform.

Sabrina Carpenter will be very hard to get tickets (she has also sold out 2 nights at Hyde Park, 60k per night) so indoors, 20k is going to be in demand.

I have used viagogo and they are fine, never had a problem at gigs at the o2 or football matches abroad. Just expensive (as already stated)

I used Twickets for tickets to see Bruce Springsteen last year at Wembley. It was a last minute decision as my friend from Milan was over for the concert. I must admit it was an easy process and a lot cheaper than viagogo.

    See you on 30th

Thanks T, tried them earlier and they didn't have any available. Will message you nearer the time to meet up at The Who

  • I have used viagogo a few times when there has been no other option and other than getting fleeced it has always worked fine.

Saw Chuck in Glasgow and Hinds at the same venue a couple of days before, two crackers to start my gig going year. Been following Chuck for years now and his gigs are always joyful
  • Vukovi at the Forum tonight. My daughter's choice but really enjoyed them. Big sound for a band that has a singer, guitarist and drummer only. Lead singer Geraldine is very easy on the eye as well!
  • Just seen Alison Moyet in Swansea Arena.
    Absolute quality.
Genuine personality engaging with the crowd, her voice is as good as ever.
Love love loved it. Even the song about her beloved Saufend 🤣🤣

You weren’t alone. When I got back to the hotel & a couple were disappointing that she hadn't done more of the solo back catalogue.
If you listen to her podcast 40 Moyet Moments she clearly explains this tour was the Key tour & that would be her focus. I heard someone complain there were two many 'new songs'. There were literally 2!!
And the few Yazoo songs she did do were blooming epic!!!!!!

I Wasnt disappointed as i knew what to expect , all the Yazoo songs got the biggest reaction of the night . But as you say there were a few people grumbling .
  • Mercury Rev

    At Islington Assembly Hall

So glad I finally got to see them, absolutely brilliant! In fact I’d go as far as saying they were Awesome, and I fucking hate the word Awesome, so they must have been good.

    Anyone else there?

Didnt know it was on mate. I like that venue as well. Love Mercury Rev. Properly moving dramatic music at times. How was his voice - it can be hit and miss

His voice was 🆗 he’s so charismatic.

Its was my first time at that venue, thought it was good, room to breathe as it wasn’t packed. Only downside was two idiots in front of me who wouldn’t stop talking FFS they should have gone to the pub and listened on Spotify. They did thankfully move.

  • It’s ten years since Airborne Toxic Event have come to the UK after being regularly on tour here. Indeed, they refer to the UK as where they broke through. It was fabulous to see them at the O2 Academy Islington. I’d forgotten just how good they are as a live act. Outstanding performance.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed The Wombats at the O2 last night - got the missus tickets as a birthday present. Actually knew more of their songs than I thought I did!

Did you watch everything everything (support). Any good?

Sometime around midnight is one of my favourite songs.
  • Lathums at Brixton tonight. Superb gig

I can't see myself in the photo above, but I was uncannily standing in pretty much the same position.
    Maybe slightly more central.
I thought it was an excellent gig.
    Thank you velly velly mooch.
I saw Swerve in the pub afterwards.
  • Good to see you!

Felt really flat after the game but the band were excellent and the gig picked me right up. Feet are still killing me though ;-)

Looking forward to fellow Wiganers The Lilacs next Saturday

  • Last night at The Roundhouse.  Fantastic as expected.  Only had two duff SLF gigs, both at Brockwell Park which is generally a sh!t venue.

Did most of the classics, Alternative Ulster, Suspect Device, Tin Soldiers, Gotta Gettaway, Wasted Life, etc. and different 'fillers' compared to 2023 at the same venue.  The only negative was no Johnny Was, the first time I've seen them without that in the set list, but it was good to hear Barbed Wire Love again, not heard them do that since the early '80s.

I was lucky enough to see them at my old school in Dartford years ago. They were absolutely brilliant. A band that holds a special place for me. Never forget the first time I heard Alternative Ulster on John Peel. Blew me away and still does
